Plot hole: When Dr Hubbard is speaking to Dr Andrews at the nuclear power plant, the bees invade the plant, which subsequently explodes. The explosion should have completely eliminated the swarm along with the plant.

Continuity mistake: When a larger group of soldiers enter the compound at the beginning of the film, the door of the compound opens to let them inside in one shot, but in the next shot the door is closed and opens a second time.
Brad Crane: We've been fighting a losing battle against the insects for fifteen years, but I never thought I'd see the final face-off in my lifetime. And I never dreamed, that it would turn out to be the bees. They've always been our friend.
Trivia: When Felix is bringing flowers over to Maureen, he passes by a movie theatre playing "The Towering Inferno", which was also produced by Irwin Allen.
