Superman (Christopher Reeve) defeats Gus' (Richard Pryor) super computer by using an acid that can penetrate just about anything when exposed to high temperatures (seen earlier in the movie when Superman saves some people at a chemical plant in Smallville). Clark gives Lana (Annette O'Toole) a diamond ring. Lois (Margot Kidder) returns from her vacation in Bermuda. Superman adjusts the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
