Plot summary
Directed by: Kimberly Peirce
Starring: Peter Sarsgaard, Hilary Swank, Chloƫ Sevigny, Brendan Sexton III
Brandon Teena, a transgendered female-to-male (FTM), was born Teena Brandon. When he is forced to leave town after committing a crime, he winds up in Nebraska, where he meets and befriends Candace, a single mother. Candace introduces Brandon to Lana and her group of juvenile friends; he is charismatic and fresh-faced, and townsfolk grow enamoured with him, not knowing about the secret he harbours. Young and foolhardy, Brandon acts recklessly despite the dangers of his biological identity being discovered. Llana and Brandon fall in love, as one of Llana's guy friends, becomes suspicious of Brandon and who "he" really is. This movie is based on a true story.
Lana: I hate my life.
Brandon: I hate your life, too.
Trivia: In the film, Brandon escapes from John and Tom after being run roughshod by them. In actual life, John and Tom let her go after the beating, but with a stern warning not to go to the police. Brandon nevertheless went and reported the crime.
Question: What is the name of the song playing during the very last scene with Lana driving and who sings it?
