Vanilla Sky

Question: What is the name of the dance tune when Tom Cruise is drunk in the club with his mask on the back of his head?

Answer: I think the one you mean is 'Afrika Shox' by Leftfield & Afrika Bambaataa which is track 10 on the fantastic soundtrack.

Question: I know this may seem like an odd question, but WHY did David choose the 'real life'? Surely, when he wakes up he'll have no one, all his friends will be dead, he might not be allowed to take back control of his company, etc. Also, if he won't remember anything, won't be like a baby, starting life again with 35 or so years on the clock? This choice really confused me, why would he choose this over a perfect life?

Answer: Because he wants a life that's real, not one that lost in the past, that he'd always know wasn't really real. The life that he faces in the future might not be perfect, but it'll be real, not just a dream.

Question: Does anyone know the name/artist of the song that plays near the end of the movie when David (Tom) is about to jump and while he is falling? I was thinking Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space by Spritualized, but it turns out that's from a different part.

Answer: It's from an Icelandic band called "Sigur Ros", and it is not on the soundtrack (although another one of their songs is - one from earlier in the movie). It's from their 2002 album titled "()" - yes two parenthesis, it's on track 4, but is an untitled song. You can get the album on Amazon.com or in any Borders or Barnes and Noble.

Question: At the end when David wakes up, who is the woman's voice telling him to open his eyes? Is it just a generic woman from LE, or is it someone more important?

Answer: There's no indication that it's not just one of the people at LE.

Question: In the lift, when the Tech Support guy is explaining to Tom Cruise what happened to him, we see scenes from several movies. Which movies are they? Was one of them "To Kill a Mockingbird"?

Answer: Yes, one was "To Kill a Mockingbird." The other was "Jules and Jim," a French film from 1961.

Krista

Question: In the movie at the 93 minute mark there is a white frame for a few seconds. What is the significance of that?

Answer: When David's life flashes before his eyes.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Tom and Penelope are lying together on her sofa there is a table to the left with a lamp and some wooden artists figures. These move position between shots, with different things happening with their arms.
