Other mistake: More than halfway through the film, after Gwen's room-mate has died of an overdose, she rings her sister on a phone that is not only "Emergencies Only", but it has no numbers on it. So how did she dial out?
Other mistake: Gwen's job is "writer," and it's clear that she doesn't have wealthy parents, or even any parents at all. So, no, she's not going to be able to afford a loft in Manhattan on that salary.
Continuity mistake: When Gwen is sitting in Cornell Shaw's office, the green man moves closer and farther away from the name plate on the desk, between the shots facing Gwen and the ones facing Cornell. (00:24:30)

Trivia: As demonstrated in the film, Equine therapy is really used in quite a few drug/alcohol rehabilitation centers in the U.S. It's used to reveal things about the patient's personality and what they do in frustrating situations. (00:37:25)
Answer: Visitors may be lightly searched, such as checking handbags, briefcases, etc, but this is a private rehab facility, not a federal prison. There are limits to and concerns about violating individuals' civil rights. Most patients are there voluntarily, so less security regarding visitors. Also, residents could likely find all sorts of ways to have contraband smuggled in and evade their watchers if they wanted.
