Question: What brand of swimsuit does the water skier wear in the movie?
Question: Can one find the background music playing in the Amity bar scene where the kids are discussing meeting at the Lighthouse with Mike being hesitant to due to being grounded by his Dad? I tried google search, shazaming and everything to no avail! Sections of lyrics sound something like "only sane things" "let them." but that's about all I could make out of it! Thank you.
Question: Can anyone tell me the name of the music the band is playing when chief Brody and his wife are dancing?
Answer: The songs are: Downtown, The Girl From Ipanema, and Teach Me Tonight.
The very first piece the Amity High School band plays, is a piece called "FANFARE." It was composed specifically for the film -> by Universal's music department head (at the time) HAL MOONEY, utilizing a small Universal staff ensemble of musicians. The composers of the other pieces: Downtown (Tony Hatch), The Girl From Ipanema (Antonio Jobim/Vinicius de Moraes), and Teach Me Tonight (Gene DePaul/Sammy Cahn). I had hoped so much when they came out with the definitive JAWS 2 score, that John Williams would have permitted these pieces to be included on the score. I think the case was that those particular pieces were not in the 'vaults' along with the John Williams score. We'd all agree, those songs are essential to the JAWS 2 narrative.
Any idea if the Teach Me Tonight arrangement from Jaws 2 is commercially available? Great instrumental in the big band style.
Question: When the shark attacks the helicopter why isn't the shark sliced in half when the rotor blades hit the water?
Answer: The rotors break as soon as they hit the water.
Question: Is the shark in this one at all related to "Bruce" (the shark from the original film). The woman's line "Sharks don't take things personally Mr Brody" made me suspicious.
Answer: For what it's worth, in the novelization the shark is a female and pregnant with the offspring of the first movie's shark, but that's not brought up in the film at all.
Chosen answer: That is highly unlikely. The woman is only pointing out to Brody that he is making it a personal issue when what he is dealing with is an animal that lacks emotion, intelligence, or self-awareness and is only acting on its primal instinct.
The ironic thing is that is the entire plot line for Jaws: The revenge.
Question: When the shark has deflated Doug's boat, Andy exclaims, "Hey Bligh, someone popped your balloon?" Why does he call him Bligh?
Answer: He is referring to Captain Bligh from Mutiny on the Bounty. Its an insult as Captain Bligh was a real jerk.
Question: Why did Roy Scheider and Jeannot Szwarc dislike each other during filming?
Answer: There appears to be a number of reasons. When Scheider signed onto the project, there was a different director and a script that he liked. He disliked the changes and had creative differences with new director Szwarc, who he felt spent too much time filming scenes with the kid actors.
Question: Why is Matt Hooper absent in this movie? Did Richard Dreyfuss refuse to reprise the role?
Answer: According to the Hollywood grapevine, yes, like all actors of his generation he had a disdain of doing sequels.
Question: Mythbusters never tested this so does anyone know if filling a hollow point bullet with cyanide and sealing it with candle wax would actually work? Or would the wax melt/disintegrate and the liquid cyanide disperse in the air while the bullet flies through to the target?
Answer: I have no doubt it would work with a small sub-sonic round such as .22 calibre pistol. There's no way the wax would survive the heat generated by the cartridge and aerodynamic force of anything much bigger.
Answer: Teach me tonight is the name of song when Chief Brody and his wife Ellen are dancing to.
