Riding in Cars with Boys

Continuity mistake: In the scene on the sidewalk where Bev is pretending Faye is her mom (and she's practicing to tell her mom that she's pregnant) the same people walk by several times. I don't think there was a single shot-reverse-shot sequence that had the right people walking by at the right time. You saw the same couple, for example, walk by at least four different times.

Continuity mistake: After Beverly has her baby, in the hospital her father is going on about how she's fifteen years old and can't handle the responsibility. The movie, movie summary, and special features on the DVD all mention that Beverly was 16 years old when she had her baby. Wouldn't her own father know how old Beverly was?

Continuity mistake: When Bev is sitting on the couch talking to her mother about missing her clinic appointment, watch the book she lays on the pillow. It keeps changing position.Once it turned completely around.

Continuity mistake: In the scene near the end of the film where Drew and her son are in the car together and Drew is in the passenger seat, there are several close-ups of Drew's face. Her eye make-up, especially the black eye-liner, changes at least 5 times in the space of about 10 minutes.

Continuity mistake: When Drew Barrymore and Steve Zahn are in the car together about to make out for the first time, Steve Zahn tells Drew Barrymore that she doesn't want to get involved with a guy like him. Immediately after this, the shots switch between Drew and Steve, and Drew's hand alternates between on the top of the seat, and down by her lap.

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Drew Barrymore's son tells her he has lost a tooth, they show his mouth with a blank spot where his front tooth had been. In all subsequent shots in the scene, all of the teeth in the boy's mouth are clearly intact.

Continuity mistake: When Bev is sitting at a table in Jason's room trying to study, Jason is distracting her. There is a blue bowl of food on the floor. Then Bev says "I'm trying to study". Watch the bowl. First it's on the floor, then it's on the table, then it's completely gone.

Continuity mistake: When Drew has just had her baby she is sitting in the bed and the curtain beside her is closed, then after it shows her parents looking at the baby it shows her again and the curtain is open.

Continuity mistake: When Faye and Bev are sitting at the bride's table at Bev's wedding dinner,Faye pours herself a glass of wine. Watch as Bev is talking about Faye leaving. Faye is holding the glass in her hand and it's full, then it's on the table almost empty, then in her hand again full.

Continuity mistake: When Bev and Faye are eating ice cream on the sidewalk, they're joking around, holding their arms out to the side. But in the very next shot, their arms are suddenly down in front of them.

Krista

Continuity mistake: When Jason is throwing snowballs at his house there are two snowballs sitting on the car, when it shows a close up of Amellia, there is only one snowball on the car.

Continuity mistake: When Bev tells her boyfriend she is pregnant, the necklace she is wearing switches from being over to under her shirt.

Continuity mistake: At the wedding Faye pours her some wine and she is holding it, it shows a different angle and the glass is on the table and the it goes back to the other view and she is holding it again.

Continuity mistake: In the scene when Beverly has her baby, when her mother and father are talking to the nurse, the baby is lying in a clear plastic bassinet surrounded by a yellow gingham bumper. When the nurse brings the baby to Bev, the nurse lifts the baby out of the bassinet and the yellow gingham bumper is now gone.

CARAMENTE22

Factual error: The movie takes place in Connecticut from 1961-1986. All the cars in the movie have license plates on their front bumpers, but Connecticut didn't require front plates until just a few years ago (late 90s-early 00s).
