Continuity mistake: In the scene where the Dr is explaining that his daughter might be a lesbian to Helen Hunt's character, when they move over to the desk area Helen's arms move from both hands leaning on his chest to only one back to both.
Continuity mistake: When the sister is at her dance practice and she is in the locker room talking on the phone, she has her leotard down around her waste and just has her sports bra on for a top. The camera breaks away and then the leotard is back on completely which would be imposible to do while talking on the phone.
Continuity mistake: Richard Gere leaves his daughter's aborted wedding and it starts to rain. He is unable to put the top up on his Cadillac convertible. When he gets to Helen Hunt's apartment, after driving through the pouring rain, his clothes are dry!
