Factual error: Towards the end, the Captain of the CRT school tells Jordan to have a seat and says, "This is Admiral Gallow and Lieutenant Burke from the Judge Advocate General's Office." The "Lieutenant" is wearing 3 stripes on his shoulder boards, which would make him a Commander, not a Lieutenant. (01:27:59)

Continuity mistake: Just before Demi Moore is about to get her head shaved she sees the base commander about equal treatment, and we notice very visibly that O'Neil has one side of her face bruised and all red and swollen. But in the next scene, which takes place moments later, when O'Neil is shaving her head, her injuries are all gone. Where did they all go to?

Continuity mistake: During a training session, Jordan forms a human ladder with another trainee to get her team over an obstacle. The Master Chief is watching this scene through a night-vision scope on his rifle. His line of sight is initially level, then suddenly alters to show the view from a lower perspective.

Christoph Galuschka

Revealing mistake: Towards the end of the film, a Cobra helicopter is flying in to assist with the extraction of the Navy Seals. There is a three-quarter frontal shot of the helicopter, one bank of rocket tubes can be seen to be empty; a few moments later, it's firing rockets from banks on both sides.

Factual error: When Jordan arrives at the training base, she is riding in a canvas-topped Humvee. The doors consist of a light wire frame covered by a vinyl canvas, and must be hooked shut with a plastic handle. You can see that she fails to secure the door, and it flops open behind her. Yet there is the sound effect of a full-size metal automobile door slamming shut.

Factual error: When Senator DeHaven is leaving the senate hearing that opens the movie, her limo pulls out of a stone archway and onto Constitution Ave. The building in front of the limo is the American History Museum, which makes the stone archway part of the Environmental Protection Agency building. A senate hearing on the Navy's policy toward women would not be held at the EPA. Furthermore, the limo turns left, not right, and therefore away from the direction of the capitol.

Other mistake: When Moore graduates from training, she is handed a nonexistent silver trident by Mortensen. She should have been handed a gold SEAL trident as they themselves conducting the training were wearing.

Suggested correction: Because they weren't training to be SEALs (BUDS/UDT). They were training to graduate the fictional "U.S. Navy Combined Reconnaissance Team" course. Fake unit, fake trident. No mistake here.

Factual error: When Demi arrives at the base she is wearing working blues and a beret. Navy personnel don't wear berets.

Suggested correction: Up until 2016 women in the US Navy had the option to wear a beret.

Visible crew/equipment: Towards the end when they are putting a grenade or a claymore on the beach a crew or an actor passes by the rocks behind her.

Plot hole: Jordan doesn't complete the course in under 12 minutes, yet master chief states she gets the standard 30 second deduction. But that still doesn't put her under the time limit.

Other mistake: During the briefing inside the submarine and the actual firefight, they were using maps that have south-facing shores. They were going to Libya where the shores face north. Even when they were planning their extraction, their intention was to go south (she points down, so it's not like the map's oriented incorrectly). Into the middle of the Libyan desert?

Sen. Lillian DeHaven: No politician can afford to let women come home in body bags. Especially me. It was never gonna happen anyway.
