Blue Ridge

Plot hole: Mayor Brady told the Sheriff, "We're a tight-knit community with a resistance against change and outsiders, and you're both..." It sounds as though the Mayor deliberately hired the Sheriff ("which is why we brought you in"), but Sheriffs in North Carolina are elected officials. Justin would have had to get his name on the ballot and the community members (who didn't like outsiders) would have had to vote him in (wanting change), believing this outsider was the best person for the position. Character mistake: Deputy Becky said Mrs. Pierce was in shock over Vivian's murder. An EMT is shown standing next to Mrs. Pierce taking her blood pressure on top of her sweater/jacket (with a blouse underneath), which would interfere with an accurate reading. Mrs. Pierce's arm is also bent at the elbow instead of being straight. If Mrs. Pierce was truly in shock, the EMT should have had her lie on the ground with her legs/feet elevated above her heart.
