Continuity mistake: When Corey is almost hit by a car in the beginning (after the credits roll), his bike is suddenly toppled much further over after the camera cuts to a wideshot.
Halloween Ends (2022)
Ending / spoiler
Directed by: David Gordon Green
Starring: Jamie Lee Curtis, Will Patton, Kyle Richards
Michael Myers arrives at Laurie's house to retrieve his mask and kills evil Corey Cunningham. Laurie and Allyson battle Michael, which ends with Laurie killing Michael. They take Michael's body to an industrial shredder and destroy him for good. However, Laurie keeps Michael's mask in her house, despite the unknown connection Michael had with it. As long as the mask remains intact, could Michael's evil be transferred into Laurie?
Laurie Strode: Come and get me, motherfucker.
Trivia: In a multi-layered homage, the movie that Corey and Jeremy are watching is 1982's "The Thing" which is a remake of "The Thing From Another World", which is the movie that Laurie and Tommy are watching in the original "Halloween." Oh, and of course, "The Thing" was also directed by John Carpenter.
Question: Michael dragged Corey into the sewers with the intent of killing him. Why did Michael let him go?

Answer: The implication seems to be that there is some sort of subliminal connection between the two that they both pick up on. I personally took it as Michael somehow subconsciously feeling the "evil" brewing within Corey... almost as though he sees his own evil in Corey. Thus, he lets him go and subsequently "teams up" with him later on. They're a twisted form of kindred spirits.
