Revealing mistake: The location of and distance between windows on the mobile home should stay the same, but do not. The home's exterior is constructed of vertical boards/slats, which can be used to make a rough estimate of the number (then distance). Initially, there were about 24 vertical boards between the shortest window and the window to its right (on-screen). When David and Anne were close to the house, there were a lot more boards between these windows - closer to 36+. The mobile home was "fabricated". (00:02:18)
Grandma accidentally sets the barn/storage shed on fire and the rest of the family comes home to see it ablaze. Jacob tries to remove bins of valuable produce (meant for sale, living expenses and food) and Monica comes to help, but they are overtaken by smoke and have to retreat. The family members can only watch as their primary means of subsistence goes up in smoke. Grandma, ashamed and distraught over what she has done, starts to aimlessly walk away from the property. David (with Anne) runs to get Grandma back. A recent doctor's office visit revealed that David's hole/gap in his heart has been closing on its own and there is hope that surgery will not be needed as originally expected. Jacob resorts to hiring a man to locate a well on his property, which he had rejected as unnecessary and too expensive when they first arrived. The availability of water will enable Jacob to successfully grow vegetables in the future. Having to start over is disconcerting, but Jacob is determined to succeed regardless of adverse circumstances. Jacob and Daniel take a bucket to get water from the watercress area, and - lo and behold! - the watercress Grandma planted is thriving and ready to be picked and sold. Grandma may have destroyed the shed and produce inside, but her watercress (Minari) will ultimately save the family from extreme economic hardship until Jacob can grow more vegetables, with adequate water to thrive.
