Continuity mistake: Taiko is tased for the first time; in the first shot he reacts making his funny noise with the hands raised halfway to the chest, but in the next close-up the arms are lowered. (01:14:20)
Continuity mistake: When Everly seizes the shard uttering the "You branded me like a cow" line, there's a small piece of glass by her hand that wasn't there before and isn't there after. (01:13:55)
Continuity mistake: The Sadist takes the vials out of his bag and in an overhead shot he puts 2 of them on the white squares of a chessboard. When he pulls 2 more, they all are on black squares. (00:55:45)
Continuity mistake: Everly says she has a gift for her girl. Her mother is holding Maisey's shoulder with the bare hand, but in the next shot her hand is inside her sweater, and bare again in the following. (00:40:20)
Continuity mistake: The main character is trying to convince her angry Japanese boss/slaver/boss to let her kid go. When he tells her "You WILL die in that room tonight" her left hand is on her thigh in the first shot, her chest in the second. (00:10:45)
Continuity mistake: Everly opens the surprise as instructed, and tosses away in horror the lid of the gift box. The lid falls off the armchair, and yet a few seconds later, with nobody else alive in the room and the protagonist that never stopped freaking out on her knees, someone picked it up and it sits by the box. Continuity mistake: When Everly gives the locket to her unflappable daughter, she looks at her in a close-up from the reverse angle where the bear is held lower against her body and with inconsistent lighting. (01:21:30)
Continuity mistake: The big bad boss is saying big bad boss things to the protagonist as he rolls up the sleeve. Salma Hayek tells him to shut up and just do it; in that camera angle, the actor (or his body double) has his arms down his side doing nothing, while when Hiroyuki Watanabe is fully in frame he is moving. Continuity mistake: After the phone call, Everly is cradling her mother's body holding it with the right hand on top or at the bottom, it switches around with the change of camera angle. (01:04:00)
Continuity mistake: When the Sadist has a slasher-like comeback and assaults Everly from behind, his hat is knocked on the floor with the dome facing down. Next shot and it faces up. (01:00:50)
Continuity mistake: Everly smokes a cigarette with the dying man. Blood drips from his chin. Everly then does not have a single chance to get back to him, but he has a clean mouth and chin when her mother and daughter arrive. (00:35:50)
Continuity mistake: Preparing for her mother's arrival, Everly cleans the apartment from blood, including the mirror that she stained with her own blood earlier in the movie (it's not the mirror she is looking herself into, but you see the golden frame when she closes it). Later on, after killing the dog, Everly talks with her mother and child and the mirror is again bloodstained. If it were that dirty, the family was bound to notice the stains anyway. (00:34:30)
Continuity mistake: A purple-haired prostitute shoots the other prostitute that was about to kill Everly from the kitchen counter. The woman dies with her gun in hand. A few seconds later, Everly tries to reach for that gun, now in a different spot on the floor. (00:17:30)
Continuity mistake: Everly is on the phone with her mother. The doorbell rings and she gasps. Next cut and the hair wildly changed position clearing away any hair from her cheek. (00:12:25)
Continuity mistake: Everly puts the phone down next to the necklace she grabs. The phone is facing up, but after she wears the necklace, it's facing down. (00:06:40)
Continuity mistake: Salma Hayek pulls a plastic bag from inside the toilet tank. The bag contains a gun that is facing opposite directions in each shot. (00:02:30)
