Continuity mistake: When the culprit tells Henry "You're coming with me", the gun on the table changes position between shots and the pen moves next to it from the opposite part of the book. (01:13:45)
Continuity mistake: When Maggie helps her daughter tie her apron, suddenly the veggies and the other item on the counter change position after the cut. Maggie's ponytail also goes from the front of her shoulder, to behind her back. (01:06:50)
Continuity mistake: When Henry serves the omelette with "everything AND tobasco" to Inspector Maggie Price, the glass has different levels of orange juice depending on the camera angle. (01:00:10)
Continuity mistake: Sunday morning, Henry shows up at Maggie's and woos her family. He puts one plate with the breakfast in front of her mom, who is just putting down a mug. In the next shot she's already with a fork in the same hand in a brutally jumpy transition. (00:59:00)
Continuity mistake: Party scene for Sally's book premiere, and like productions on a budget do, extras are recycled to make it seem much bigger of a deal than it is. One good example is when they are done and get out of the building, and come across the blonde with a grey cape that was one of the people most frequently in the background when they approached Sally inside. (00:54:20 - 00:57:00)
Continuity mistake: The Gourmet Detective is cooking some shrimps while the threatening note sits on his kitchen counter. During the scene there is a lack of continuity between shots in Lucy's left arm. Her hand goes from closed to open, then she leans on it, but she is not in the reverse shot. (00:50:40)
Continuity mistake: When the gourmet detective tells Maggie that those are the best ribs she'll ever have, his hands go from fists to open at the cut. (00:49:40)
Continuity mistake: At Raymond's house, the detectives talk with him and with Peter. When Peter says that business was benefitting from the perceived rivalry, the wine in his glass suddenly goes down an inch between shots. (00:47:30)
Continuity mistake: When the dynamic duo finds Oliver lying on the carpet, he changes position between shots - the tie is under his outstretched arm in the second one. (00:37:20)
Continuity mistake: Henry tells Maggie that his assistant will look into the name "Todd Armand" from the note. In the background, a production assistant character is walking about - but he is coming from a different direction in foreground when Maggie starts getting salty about the gourmet detective's proactivity. (00:34:30)
Continuity mistake: Maggie's hand position on the wheel is inconsistent between shots in the scene when Henry is bagging some of the junk piled up in her car. (00:29:15)
Continuity mistake: Captain Forsyth tosses on the table the dossier with Henry's data. The position on the table changes between shots - just look at how the corners of the folder stick out from the stacked papers underneath it. (00:23:20)
Continuity mistake: When Henry meets Maggie, in official capacity this time, the conversation has continuity errors in the hand position of Brooke Burns. She points the finger at him, lowers the hand as he says "I know you!", but the hand is back up and pointing in the next shot. Likewise, when she asks him if he's a witness, her hand goes from closed to open to closed again. (00:19:20)
Continuity mistake: Inspector Maggie Price arrives on the crime scene; the first time we see the coroner near the body, the left hand of the deceased has just a tiny bit of tablecloth underneath it. It has a much larger portion in the overhead shots that follow. (00:18:30)
Continuity mistake: Ian Jenkin dies taking the tablecloth with him. During this sequence, the bistro owner grabs his glass of wine twice in two different shots, in one of which Pauline Duquette is still sitting down; she got up promptly just in the previous shot. (00:17:40)
Continuity mistake: Ian Jenkin stands to make an announcement. In the wide shot, the man at headtable has his right hand on the table, but in the next close-up he's putting down a coffee cup. (00:17:10)
Continuity mistake: Dinner is served, the first dish at least. The person at the head of the table makes a remark to Raymond saying they should have the same bold choice; during this exchange, Henry reaches for his glass. Next shot, not a split a second has passed, and yet in the foreground you can spot to the very right of the frame that he's already drinking. (00:15:30)
Continuity mistake: Henry accepted the case and is in the kitchen talking to the chef. Throughout the conversation, the movement of the various extras is in compartments; when they get out of frame, they do not appear in the next shot. (00:13:00)
Continuity mistake: Henry does the whole Sherlock Holmes thingy deducing specific aspects of people's lives based on observation. Easy one with Maggie, guessing she's divorced. When he explains how he guessed it, her hand holding the glass from above changes position between shots. (00:07:55)
Continuity mistake: Maggie's clumsiness burnt the tasty dish, but the gourmet detective hands her and her unlikely date a spare portion. During the sequence that follows, her fork switches hand and is lowered or raised without continuity between cuts. (00:06:25)
