Continuity mistake: When the lamp falls, an aerial angle shows that the street is in the shadows. In the following angle the street is sunny. (00:03:15)
Suggested correction: As the lamp hits the road, the shadows of the houses and posts are regular. When the angle changes to look at Truman from between the posts, the shadows haven't changed. Only the angle we're looking at him, and so the angle we see the shadows.
Continuity mistake: The FM LED on the car's radio appears in the outside shots but disappears when seen from the inside of the panel.
Continuity mistake: Truman's Ford Taurus is brown in color. Yet, when he tries to escape with his wife the car is silver for that entire scene.
Continuity mistake: At the end, when Truman is supposedly looking into the sun, there is a shadow on one side of his face, indicating that the light source for that shot is to his side. (01:32:15)
Continuity mistake: When Truman and Meryl are discussing in the kitchen, she threatens him with 3 kitchen gadgets. Depending on the shot, the position of the gadget in the middle keeps swapping from being equidistant from the others, or close to the one on the right. (00:54:15)
Continuity mistake: In the boat after the storm, Truman has a rope going over his thigh. A second later it is tied around by a big knot. (01:28:15)
Continuity mistake: In the flight centre, after Truman taps his luggage, he puts both his arms under his chin. Then the camera changes shot to just beside his elbow, and his fist is sticking out behind his elbow. Just a shot ago it was below his chin.
Continuity mistake: When Truman stops in front of the bus, the position of the driver's right hand differs between the outside and inside shot. (00:32:55)
Continuity mistake: In the travel agency, some pencils appear, others disappear, and others change position during the whole scene. (00:43:00)
Continuity mistake: When Truman opens the trunk in the basement, the stuff inside changes completely in the close-up. (00:17:25)
Continuity mistake: The lamp falls on a sunny side of the pavement. When the shot changes it's on a shady part. (00:03:15)
Continuity mistake: In the scene just before Truman sees his dad as a homeless man, there is a woman in a white sweater holding a shopping bag in her right hand. When Truman turns, the bag switches to her left. (00:15:05)
Continuity mistake: When Truman is watching how the lamps falls from the sky, the shadow on the front of his car appears and disappears depending on the angle shot. (00:03:40)
Continuity mistake: When Meryl holds the Chef's Pal, the position of her hands differs depending on the shot. (00:09:15)
Continuity mistake: Just before Truman turns around to see his dad as a homeless man, there is a woman in a white sweater behind him. When Truman turns, the woman is in front of him. (00:15:05)
Visible crew/equipment: Right as Truman is leaving to go to Fiji in the sedan, he backs out of the driveway. The shot is a camera attached to the rear of the vehicle. The rig is reflected in the bumper on both sides of the license plate.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene at the travel agents when Truman is trying to book a flight to Fiji the woman asks 'when would you like to leave?', Truman holds up his suitcase and says 'today'. When he holds up his suitcase you can see the boom mic reflected on his suitcase. (00:41:25)
Revealing mistake: If you look in Truman's car's mirror when he is backing up from the traffic jam, wires can be seen wrapped around his car.
Continuity mistake: When Truman meets his father, there's a man on a bike, 5 meters behind them, riding really slowly. A second later, from a new angle, the bicycle is 10 meters in front of him. (00:15:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where a lamp fell from the sky in front of Truman, the damage caused to it seemed somewhat insubstantial, bearing in mind the height from which it surely must have fallen in order for it not to be visible from the ground in the first place. (00:03:15)
Suggested correction: The reason it wasn't visible in the first place is because there was a screen/cover on the walls of the dome as shown at the end. Not to mention those lights are heavy duty, mostly made of metal so it's extremely likely that it could have fallen from a height like that (probably the height of a 20 story building) and gotten the damage that it did.
