Continuity mistake: The protagonist dismounts from the bed, grabs a CD, turns it around. Cut, and the CD is held differently and turned the other way. (00:02:00)
Continuity mistake: Katie enters the room where Gail is posing Indian-style. Lucy Hale's hair changes position in front of her shoulders repeatedly between shots. (00:02:25)
Continuity mistake: Katie slaps away Victor's handful of earthworms, but they get inside the blender. In the close-up you can see a few worms miss the open blender and fall to the side, on the counter. When Gail arrives, those telltale protostomes have disappeared. (00:03:20)
Continuity mistake: In the Dean's office, Luke sighs when his dad talks about the distinction between musicians and businessmen, and brings his hand to his temple. Camera back on Guy, and Luke's hand is not there. Moreover, a couple seconds later Katie comes running, and a new inconsistency appears; Luke's arm is on the armrest, but in the pensive/malincholic position again in the wider shot. (00:05:10)
Continuity mistake: When Gail introduces Guy to Bev, Guy's hand is under his chin in the foreground when Luke eyerolls at the whole ordeal, but his arms are all down in any other shot. (00:07:00)
Continuity mistake: At dinner, once Gail uses the "Make me one with everything" line, Katie is moving around the table to get seated. Victor is drinking, but after the cut he's eating with a fork. Gail is about to talk about her big break, her hand is down, and then up after the cut. (00:12:25)
Continuity mistake: When Bev says "Guy will give me a deal as soon as he hears me sing", Gail's hand is on the bowl of her glass. It's on the stem before and after. It keeps switching that way depending on the angle. (00:13:05)
Continuity mistake: Gail tells her daughter she wants to be 6'4" and puts her chin on top of her hands. Her left hand is on top of the right. Except, in the next shot it's the opposite. Back to left-right when we're back on the previous angle. (00:14:10)
Revealing mistake: When Victor pulls the towel off Katie, she ends up facing him, and then instead of resisting, holding the towel or shoving him off (he's a kid, she towers over him) she blatantly spins away to be stripped and literally walks off the door so he can lock her out. Revealing mistake: Locked out of the house, Katie has to wander around naked. Or rather, in her skin-colored tight fitting underwear. (00:16:22)
Continuity mistake: There are three pieces of banana on the platter when Ravi is making the offering to Gail's "personal divinity." He picks one up, then at the cut only one is left. (00:17:15)
Continuity mistake: During the conversation when she is wearing just a welcome rug, Katie's hair jumps left to right at the beginning, and tucked/untucked into Luke's jacket (for instance when he talks about 'a gift from God') several times. (00:18:00 - 00:20:30)
Plot hole: Gail and Katie talk in her shed about Guy's phone call. Katie says "I didn't lie about anything", which is a really odd non sequitur. All Gail said was "I just got off the phone with Guy Morgan. Your phone. He just loved that little demo you left him. I have underestimated you. It'd make me proud if I actually cared about you." Nothing about it prompts a response like that, except the plot point that Gail told Guy that Katie lied about it appropriating Bev's demo. But Katie does not know that fact at that point. (00:21:00)
Continuity mistake: After shooing Luke, Gail tells Bev that she'll lip sync to Katie. She has her hand on her shoulder, but pulls the arm back before the cut. Next shot and her hand is back on her daughter's shoulder. Same thing happens a bit later during the Colin Farrell peen joke. (00:22:55)
Continuity mistake: Luke is talking with Mickey O'Malley the day after the first meeting with Bev and Katie. The unlikely Irish names some fictional group called "Oral Majority." A guy in an indigo shirt walks past them, moving in the opposite direction. Next shot, the same guy crosses the street in front of them. The same guy pops into shot 'just passing by' another 3-4 times. (00:24:30)
Continuity mistake: Angela brings Katie the gift box; when she 'ta-daa!'s and Katie reaches for it, it's turned 180° compared to when Angie put the box on the bed. (00:29:20)
Continuity mistake: Katie puts Angie's sari back in the box twice in different shots. It also sticks out in different ways the first time around. (00:29:40)
Continuity mistake: Talking about plans for the ball, Angie takes a bite of the sandwich. Cut for a few moments on Katie, and Angie is now also holding a big mug. So far it's not quite practical but technically possible. But after a couple more cuts, Angie's sandwich is now half-eaten, way too fast. (00:30:10)
Character mistake: Gail reads right through Katie's poor excuse about crotcheting, and says she won't go to the ball "after what you pulled today with Guy." She did not do it (well she didn't do anything, but 'supposedly did') today, but yesterday. (00:31:00)
