Factual error: Diana is having a romantic walk with the newfound Steve by the Reflecting Pool, walking towards the Lincoln Memorial. Behind them there's the imposing shape of the Washington monument, but also lit in the night are the columns of the World War II memorial, which was built entirely in the new millennium. (00:46:50)

Sammo

Factual error: When Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor are walking out at night near the Washington monument, a plane passes overhead. A TWA Airlines A320 or A319, which Steve looks at and says "amazing." Moments before that, Wonder Woman has confirmed that the year is 1984. The only problem is, a TWA never operated that kind of airplane and the A320/A319 didn't even exist in 1984. (00:47:43)

Revealing mistake: Steve Trevor approaches and stands before an oval, wall-mounted mirror, incredulously looking at himself and seeing a stranger's face in close-up. Steve finally smiles approvingly, turns to Diana Prince and says, "He's got it! Y'know, I like him!" The camera immediately cuts to two wide shots from behind Steve standing directly in front of the mirror (only a couple of feet away from it), but there is no reflection of Steve in the mirror at all. This error reveals that the "mirror" is actually a hole in the wall (a low-budget practical effect used in films of decades past for such mirror illusions). They probably filmed a lot more footage of Steve mugging in front of the "mirror" but edited it out, because this old-school effect is notoriously difficult to get exactly right. Suggested correction: They don't use this trick for the scene, the actor playing "the other guy" is standing in front of the mirror himself when you see him in the reflection, since he has black hair and Chris Pine does not. And Chris Pine can only be seen without the mirror. Later in the wide shots the angle of the mirror simply doesn't show Chris Pine's reflection. Only a tiny second at the start of the wide shot can you see it is actually a real mirror, when you see a piece of Chris Pine's hair in it.

lionhead

As I said, they probably filmed a lot more footage of Steve mugging in front of the "mirror" but edited it out. When Steve approaches the "mirror" in close-up, you can see that there are two distinct actors (which is the whole purpose of the scene): Chris Pine's hair is a distinctly different color and texture, and the actor in the "reflection" is taller. Plus, their subtle body and head movements are not perfectly synchronized, as would be the case in a true mirror-image. It's the old hole-in-the-wall trick.

Charles Austin Miller

But it is a real mirror, as it reflects his hair. So it's not a hole in the wall anyway. The back of the head you see when seeing "the other guy" in the mirror is that same guy's head, not Chris Pine's. No need to use that trick.

lionhead

No, the hair color and texture of the back-of-the-head shot are distinctly different from the guy in the reflection. The whole purpose of the shot is that Chris Pine in the foreground IS NOT the guy in the reflection in the background. The hair color and texture is different, and the guy in the reflection is taller; plus, the body and head movements are not synchronized. Go back and watch the scene (if you can stand watching the movie again).

Continuity mistake: When Steve points at the mirror to express his approval of the body he is leeching on, he is missing the rag he had in his right hand. (00:50:10)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Diana and Steve are being creeps snuggling in bed with a body that Steve hijacked, his right hand changes position on Diana between shots. For instance when he says he's never been in a room more amazing, his hand is on her shoulder, but it's on top of her head in the reverse shot. (00:52:00)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: In the gym sequence, the weight lifters in the left background are doing different things from one cut to the next. (00:53:30)

Continuity mistake: Max (Pedro Pascal) wishes to magically remove Simon from his path, and the Feds arrive. He asks one of them for information who shoos him off. Notice that two more agents are joining. Max then walks back to the entrance and those same agents are walking again, and when a few seconds later he's outside looking in, they are still just barely now joining the others. (00:55:40)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Steve is excited about the escalator, people on the one going parallel to them change position between shots. (00:57:40)

Sammo

Factual error: When Diana first brings Steve into the DC Metro, the modern-day signage visible inside L'Enfant Plaza Station is not era-appropriate to 1984. It includes markers for the Green Line (opened in 1991) and Silver Line (opened in 2014), and all markers are shown with printed abbreviations, which were not added until the Silver Line opened. (00:57:49)

DavidK93

Factual error: The metro scene shows signs for the green and yellow lines. The green line didn't open until 1991. The scene also showed an electronic sign that shows the time until the next train. These weren't installed until much later than 1984. (00:57:50)

Factual error: Past the escalator, Steve and Diana walk past some literal punks who are wearing T-shirts. Some are appropriate for the period (such as the Bad Brains one, their debut album is from 1982) but the one with the cheetah leggings is sporting a Cro-Mags T-shirt; their debut album "The Age of Quarrel" (and its artwork is on the T-shirt itself) was a September 1986 release and this unfortunately isn't Wonder Woman 1986. (00:57:50)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Diana is looking at Steve's amazed face reacting to the subway train. In the wide shot she has her hands on her hips initially, but before the cut she brings the arms fully down her sides. However, in the next shot she is again looking at him in the initial pose. (00:58:05)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Steve gets a leaflet from the astronaut and approaches the stairs by the Jupiter-C model. When he coos in the next shot on top of the stairs, the people on the floor changed from the previous. (00:59:10)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Max's secretary tells him that the Wall Street Journal wants to interview him; she holds the phone with the right hand on the microphone and the left hand above it, but she's waving the phone in her right in the next shot, the left hand being on the cable, several centimeters below. (01:00:40)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: When Diana breaks the huge lock with more effort than she is used to, in the last effort her ponytail bounces above her shoulder. She then hands it to Steve, but the ponytail is back fully behind her. (01:03:15)

Sammo

Factual error: The mall robbery happens on July 1st, as shown on the newspaper clipping Diana finds, which is coherent with the events depicted in the movie (they rob the mall on the 1st, the day after the stone is at the Smithsonian and Diana and Barbara bond over dinner, then on the 3rd Maxwell arrives, grabs the stone at the evening party, and he is already super powerful the afternoon he takes off for Cairo). Problem is, July the 1st was a Sunday, and not just the mall, but pretty much any other store downtown is open, and similarly since it's the 4th, financial operations wouldn't be happening (although in this case you could always argue that we deal with wishes - but it's an extra layer of implausibility). (01:04:05)

Sammo

Continuity mistake: Diana asks what could be imbued into the stone; Steve is trying to guess and goes "I don't know, hmm." The ring with the Gods' writing is in a different spot of the table compared to other shots (for instance, there's a page in between the jewelry and the other pointed dark item on the desk, absent in other shots). (01:05:40)

Sammo

Other mistake: Steve is amazed by the mere sight of modern planes, and by the fact he just learns that there are planes that can fly from the US to Cairo directly (unlike the plane he steals later, incidentally) and in a certain time (which he somehow surmises, it is not displayed on the ticket he is looking at), showing that he absolutely has no prior knowledge of modern aviation. Even for 80s camp, the concept that a WW1 pilot who never even knew of jet planes sits on the cockpit and figures out how it all works in a minute by flipping switches...is totally bogus. (01:08:00)

Sammo

Factual error: Diana conjures a shield of invisibility for the jet, but must have also summoned a sound-dampening spell, since the two are comfortably chatting without a helmet and / or usage of the intercom. (01:08:20)

Suggested correction: You correct your own mistake. Not only is the plane invisible, but also silent as is heard when the plane lifts up and disappears.

lionhead

I was being facetious. The lack of noise happens way before she starts doing the magic hand thing. If anything, it happens in a ton of movies (prolly there's already an entry in the Common mistakes section somewhere) for people to communicate inside aircrafts or other exceptionally noisy vehicles without the aid of intercoms.

Sammo

Before she does the invisibility trick Steve hasn't put on the full throttle yet.

lionhead

Other mistake: Flying the jet plane, Steve is surprised by the lights in the sky and needs Diana to explain to him that it's fireworks and it's the 4th of July. Fireworks are something that has existed for centuries, and Steve himself was the one who found the plane ticket for the 4th commenting "If this date is right." (01:11:30)

Suggested correction: He didn't realise it was the 4th of July, he's just surprised to see fireworks, not that he doesn't know what they are. The date on the plane ticket he just forgot.

lionhead

He asks "What's that?" when the fireworks are visible and can't really be mistaken as anything else, and he himself was fully aware of the date before they headed to the hangar, but Diana says "The 4th" and he asks "The 4th of July?" like it's the first time he even thinks which month is it. If you listen to it, the emphasis is on the question in the delivery of the line as in "It's the 4th of July?", not as in "Oh, the 4th of July, right!"

Sammo

She says it's the fourth and he instantly realises it's fireworks for the fourth of July. There is no indication whatsoever that Steve doesn't know what fireworks are and your movie mistake suggests the makers intended Steve not to know what fireworks are, which is ridiculous. Your interpretation of the scene is just wrong.

lionhead

He does not instantly realise it's fireworks for the fourth of July. She has to reassure him that "oh it's OK, it's just fireworks", then she says "The 4th, of course" and he replies, as I said "The 4th of July?" with huge emphasis on the surprise. Sorry if you find my interpretation of the scene 'just wrong', but if they did not have his character call attention on the date literally 5 minutes earlier in the movie (it is a fact), I would have not reported it just for the fireworks part alone (which is more subjective, we read differently, and I respect your position).

Sammo

Diana Prince: Nothing good is born from lies. And greatness is not what you think.

Trivia: Panning around Diana's apartment, the camera briefly lingers on a photo of her with an elderly lady, with no elaboration of its significance. But look closely and you'll realise the woman in the photo is Etta from the first movie, again played by Lucy Davis, just made up to look 67 years older.

Answer: When Barbara Minerva wished to be just like Diana, she was granted the same strength and powers as Wonder Woman. Barbara additionally became less humane and even more powerful and dangerous after morphing into "Cheetah." Diana needed the armor to outmatch and defeat Barbara. She was also expecting to fight a multitude of soldiers to get to Max. The armor was originally Asteria's, who needed the extra protection when she battled an army to save the other Amazons.
