Continuity mistake: Nick proposes on the plane and puts the ring on. They kiss and you see both of Rachel's hands and there is no ring on her finger.
Factual error: In the second-to-last scene, Rachel is leaving Singapore for New York. Nick goes onboard to propose and convinces her to stay in Singapore for one more night. However, this is not possible in Singapore due to strict laws which state that those who enter the departure area must have a boarding pass and intend to leave the country. Those who have a boarding pass but no intention to depart will be prosecuted. In 2018, 40 people were arrested for various offenses, such as sending a friend off or meeting their idols.
Suggested correction: Nick's family is extremely rich, powerful and famous in Singapore. That might have been enough to get him special treatment or an exception to the rule.
Other mistake: Peik Lin is driving Rachel to the Young family residence. As they are driving, the navigation system starts prompting her to make a u-turn because there's nothing out there but jungle. Peik Lin brings the car to a stop, seemly indicating that they are lost and unsure where to go. The guards suddenly appear and then eventually give her the go ahead to go through a very visible gate. The gate is prominent. If the gate were that visible she and Rachel wouldn't have wondered if they were lost or in the wrong place.
Other mistake: When women's club is reading from the Bible, Eleanor asks to continue on to Corinthians after reading Ephesians. Actually after Ephesians is Philippians. Corinthians is a few books earlier than Ephesians.
Continuity mistake: When Rachel had the bamboo tile, she had it in her left hand, switched it to her right hand and places her tiles, but in the next shot the tile is in her left hand. (01:44:47)
Other mistake: When Nick is proposing on the airplane near the end of the movie, look at the seating row number next to Nick and Rachel. Shots of Nick are at around row 40. While the couple are both stationary but opposite each other, the camera is focused on Rachel, but her seat row is in the 20s.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning, when Astrid is introduced, she is in a hotel in Shanghai. Later that evening, she is in her home in Singapore.
Factual error: When Nick is talking to his mother at the beginning of the film, he is in New York City and she is in Singapore. It is just after lunch in NYC. The time is 13 hours ahead in Singapore but it is somehow bright daylight and obviously the middle of the day.
