Continuity mistake: When Tommy and Greg get into the limo to head to the premier, there are boxes of The Room merchandise and promotional material scatted all about in the limo and filling the driver side of the back seat. They are also missing in several of the close ups of Tommy, then back in others. (01:20:15 - 01:21:00)
Continuity mistake: When Tommy gathers his crew on the first day of shooting and has Marcus come to film him for the behind the scenes, Marcus starts to step to the side past a line on the ground and goes over it. Continuity mistake: After going to Tommy's apartment in LA, they stand on a balcony and shout that they will own L.A. Continuity mistake: Tommy takes Greg to his home, and inside he gets a Red Bull and sits down. He is holding the can in his right hand and to his side, but the camera cuts to a side view and suddenly he's holding it in his lap with both hands. In each shot when the camera changes angles, it continuously goes back and forth between these two positions. (00:12:20)
Continuity mistake: When Tommy comes to pick up Greg on the street where Greg was playing with some kids, Greg goes to get in Tommy's car. As he walks around it, a kid with a burgundy striped shirt is standing by the car with the football, but as he's getting in in the next shot the kid changes to the green shirt kid holding the football. During this part of the scene, the kid by the car changes back and forth between the green shirt and the burgundy stripe shirt kid several times. (00:06:10)
Answer: He was a fictional character. However, Apatow says he was playing a version of himself, though he didn't initially realise that when being cast. He claims he is not that bad in real life; his character is also an amalgam of other producers.
