Continuity mistake: When the hot blonde gets out of the water she is supposed to be naked, as 5 minutes before we saw her take off her bikini bottoms, but as she walks out you can see she still has her bottom half on. (00:20:55)
Survival Island (2005)
Plot summary
Directed by: Stewart Raffill
Starring: Billy Zane, Kelly Brook, Juan Pablo Di Pace, Todd Collins
A married couple, Jack and Jennifer, along with their pilot, Manuel, are on a private plane heading to the Bahamas. Jack and Jennifer are quite wealthy and plan to spend a romantic getaway on a remote island they own. However, their plans take a drastic turn when a storm forces the plane to crash into the ocean.
The trio manages to swim to the safety of an uninhabited island a few miles away. They realise that nobody knows their whereabouts, but they have supplies from the sinking plane. Initially, they work together to set up a shelter and find food and freshwater sources.
As days pass, tensions arise between the characters. Jack becomes increasingly controlling and paranoid, suspecting that Jennifer and Manuel may be having an affair. He frequently argues with Manuel and attempts to establish dominance over both him and Jennifer.
One day, while exploring the island, Jennifer stumbles upon hidden treasure buried in the sand. She decides not to tell Jack or Manuel, fearing it may cause further conflict. Instead, she begins to secretly dig it up, planning to use it as a way to escape the island and improve their lives once rescued.
Jennifer's secret doesn't last long as Jack discovers her hiding the treasure. Jealousy and greed consume him, and he becomes fixated on obtaining the treasure for himself. He forces Jennifer to continue digging it up with Manuel's help, threatening their lives if they refuse.
As tensions escalate, Jack's control over the situation becomes more dangerous. He isolates Jennifer from Manuel, manipulating her emotions to maintain his dominance. At the same time, Jack grows increasingly paranoid, believing that Manuel is plotting against him.
In a desperate attempt to survive and escape the island, Manuel constructs a raft. He plans to use it to reach a nearby island where he believes there may be help. However, just as Manuel is preparing to depart, Jack catches him and a violent struggle ensues. Manuel manages to overpower Jack, leaving him injured and unconscious.
With Jack incapacitated, Manuel sets off on the raft, leaving Jennifer torn between her husband and the man who saved her from his control. However, a sudden twist of fate occurs when the raft is attacked by a shark, causing Manuel to fall into the water and presumably die.
Jennifer is now left alone on the island, mourning the loss of Manuel and fearing Jack's retaliation once he recovers. As she struggles to survive, she discovers that Jack has regained consciousness and is determined to exact revenge on her.
In a climactic showdown, Jennifer manages to outsmart and ultimately kill Jack, saving herself from his violent intentions. With both her husband and Manuel gone, she remains the sole survivor on the island.
The film concludes with Jennifer embracing her survival instincts, utilizing the treasure she found to build a better life for herself. She manages to attract the attention of a passing boat, finally ending her harrowing ordeal and setting sail toward a new beginning.
