Character mistake: At the hospital, Alice's husband says, "Here we are, in a major hospital, and they only have one elevator." In fact, there are two elevators, right beside each other. He actually looks at the other one before making the comment.

10/10. The best movie Julianne Moore's done ever. She deserved that Oscar for this perfect movie. Dr Alice Howland faces Alzheimer's bravely, shown in the journey most people have going from shock to depression to acceptance. I would call it one of the best movies of 2014 as well as of the decade. She's long since proven herself quite good in movies like The Forgotten, Boogie Nights, Chloe, The Hours, etc. I consider Julianne Moore to be one of the best actresses of all time and one of my favorite actresses too. If you watch it you'll probably love it like I did.
Suggested correction: He meant one elevator bank that actually worked. During the time they waited, none came.
Exactly. He says "they only have one elevator running", which is different than saying they only had one elevator.
Dr. Alice Howland: When I was, um, a little girl, like, in second grade, my teacher told me butterflies don't live a long time. They live, like, a month. And I was so upset, and I went home, and I told my mother, and she said: "Yeah, but, you know, they have a nice life. They have a really beautiful life." So now it always makes me think about my mother's life, and my sister's life. And to a certain extent, you know, my own.
