Continuity mistake: When Clarence is talking with the other drug dealer in the warehouse, tempers flare and guns are drawn. The Asian gang member racks his shotgun (thus loading the weapon). Wouldn't he have kept it loaded? Anyway a few seconds later Robocop enters and the same Asian guy racks his shotgun again and no shell is ejected. (01:22:55)

Continuity mistake: You have to watch REALLY closely for this one. When Clarence and the gang are in the mill looking for RoboCop, we see RoboCop on the floor above them. He walks to the ledge with the mirror in his hands, but when we see a closeup of him, he has to bend down to pick up the mirror. (01:24:37)

Continuity mistake: When Robocop's about to be run down by the van towards the end, he fires his traditional three-round burst at the windscreen, somehow producing nine bullet holes. (01:25:40)

Jon Sandys

Continuity mistake: Just after Clarence's car crashes into the water we can see an overhead shot and the water is calm - it should still be rippling. (01:27:25)

Other mistake: After the one bad guy crashes into the giant vat of toxic waste, hardly any of the liquid from the container spills out for the first two shots. Then a few cuts later, almost all of it pours from the back of the truck. Judging by the size of the hole it left, more liquid should have been coming out around the truck, not just through it. Visible crew/equipment: When Clarence is racing away from Lewis near the end of the movie, the camera zooms in on Clarence driving the car and the camera men and camera truck are visible in the reflection of the car. (01:29:35)

Visible crew/equipment: Just before Clarence Boddicker crashes his SUX into the water, the camera view zooms down to the driver's window. If you look in the paintwork below the drivers window, you can see the camera and operator being reflected. (01:29:35)

Continuity mistake: Just before Clarence Boddicker crashes his 6000 SUX into the water after colliding with Lewis' Taurus Cruiser, there is a scene where his car is charging toward the camera, and a hubcap comes off and whistles past the camera, in fact they even put in a sound effect. But in one of the next shots, the hubcaps are back on. (01:29:50)

Continuity mistake: If you look closely at the computer panel in the OCP boardroom, there is no silver hole for RoboCop's spike, it is all black in colour. Yet there is a hole for his spike when he turns to prove Jones killed Bob. (01:29:56)

Padzter

Continuity mistake: When Clarence's car is flipped over at the steel mill, he gets out and starts firing at Lewis. Look at the windshield on Lewis's car. It's in perfect condition and all of a sudden 9 bullet holes appear in it. Clarence didn't even shoot his gun that many times. (01:30:45)

Visible crew/equipment: When Clarence Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith) is killed by Murphy (Peter Weller), Boddicker falls into the steel mill's water, blood spewing from his neck. Sharp eyes are required here to see that there is someone standing against the wall in the background... (01:32:40)

Robocop mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Robocop is at OCP trying to save "the old man," Jones is wearing a black suit while he is holding him hostage. After he releases him (as Robocop shoots him) the suit is grey, then turns black again as he crashes through the window and falls to his death. (01:35:30)

Other mistake: Just after Dick is fired, Robocop shoots him. Robocop shoots Dick twice and we see two exit wounds on Dick's back. Robocop fires a third time, and two more exit wounds appear simultaneously lower down. (01:35:50)

Knever

Audio problem: At the end of the movie where Dick Jones is falling from the OCP building. At the end of the shot you can hear the splat sound. But he's not near the ground yet. He is still seen up in the air. (01:36:00)

Jeffy

Continuity mistake: In the end scene Robocop shoots Dick Jones out the window while he is standing in front of the television screens, then he spins his gun and puts it into his right leg. The camera view changes to focus on his leg, and you can see he is not standing in front of the screen and a person's legs appear standing behind Robocop, with black corporate pants and leather shoes. In the next shot when it focuses back on Robocop, he is back in front of the television screens again after putting his gun away. Obviously the leg view is from a dummy, because the blood & damage on it was missing in that shot. (01:36:00)

Revealing mistake: In the shot where Dick Jones is falling from the top of the OCP building, both of his arms appear to be about a foot longer than they should be. (01:36:30)

Floyd1977

Continuity mistake: When the ED-209 gets to the stairs and tries to give the first step, its right arm changes from having one cannon and missile launcher to having two cannons and two ammo clips of sorts (just like its left arm). When ED slides and is falling, the arm changes back to normal; and at the end of the fall, its arm has two cannons again.

Continuity mistake: In the cocaine factory scene when Robocop enters and start shooting all the workers, one of the workers on the cat walk gets shot in the left shoulder, but in the next shot when Robocop is walking underneath, it appears he has been shot in the right shoulder.

Revealing mistake: As Emil is being washed out from the back of the truck by the toxic waste, it's obviously a stuntman. The stuntman appears to have a dark mohawk which does not match the actor's hair.

[After ED-209 kills a junior executive.]
Dick Jones: I'm sure this is just a glitch. A temporary setback.
The Old Man: You call this a GLITCH?

Trivia: ED-209's voice is provided by producer Jon Davison. He was recorded as a placeholder, but the filmmakers kept it for the theatrical release. ED-209's roar is a jaguar growl played backwards.

More trivia for Robocop

Answer: When Bob Morton is told by a tech that one of Murphy's arm was saved, Bob stated that he wants total body prosthesis. Meaning Robocop's entire body was synthetic. None of his actual body was used. The only thing that was used was Murphy's actual face.

Also, his human brain, and possibly his spine, where OCP could wire him into the suit.

Movie Nut

Answer: Most of his head and brain, about 40% of his upper torso, none of his pelvic area or limbs.
