Continuity mistake: Pavlova is shown as a gray cat. But when Clara grabs her from under the table and picks her up, the cat’s fur is now an olive green color. (00:09:10)
Continuity mistake: Pavlova runs up to where the guests are walking in the door to the party room and the high shot shows the lines between the rooms on the floor. But then it cuts to a close up from lower and the floor does not have the lines any more. (00:08:25)
Continuity mistake: When the guests arrive at the party, Pavlova is sitting in the middle of the floor, not close any furniture. The shot cuts to Fritz for about a second or a second and a half and shows him fire off a toy cannon ball. The camera immediately goes back to Pavlova with the cannon ball rolling past her, but she is suddenly behind a table leg next to a chair. (00:08:10)
Continuity mistake: Pavlova runs down stairs and a door is shut before she can get through, so she scratches at the door. There are some black lines on the floor that appear to separate a carpet or some sort of different type of wood. They are very big and thick. Three of them go under the door the kitty is at. The center one shows to be just to the left of the line separating the two halves of the door, and the line on the right is a good half foot or so away from the edge of the door. Then it cuts to a closer angle and now the center line is to the right of the door divider line, and the right most line is under the edge of the door. (00:05:45)
Continuity mistake: After Fritz and Clara arrive home in the beginning, the camera pans up to reveal the family cat, Pavlova, staring out the window. She is three panes over on the window, but is looking out the left side pane. When it cuts to a view from inside the room, her head is suddenly looking out the right side of the window pane. (00:05:20)
Continuity mistake: As Clara and Fritz are running up to their house, the distance shot shows lots of snow covering the rails on the steps. But when it cuts to a close up as Clara is running up the steps, there is suddenly a lot less snow on them, as well as a lot more steps. Also in the close up, round fixtures suddenly appear at the top of the rails. (00:05:05)
Continuity mistake: When running home, Clara and Fritz run through a gate that is before their house. As they run in, the gate is open, but swung in towards the house. After Fritz grabs his hat off the ground and then runs through, it cuts to a view from inside the walled off area and the gate is suddenly open swung out away from the house. (00:05:00)
Continuity mistake: After reaching the fence, Clara and Fritz climb it and take off into the woods. As they run through the snow, it is inconsistent when and how they leave footprints. Sometimes Clara is leaving them but then suddenly stops leaving prints. Then it cuts to a wide shot where it shows foot prints she left, but Fritz is running through the same area not leaving any. (00:04:40)
Continuity mistake: After Fritz and Clara take off from Uncle Drosselmeier’s shop, and then she balances on a walkway railing, they take off again and Fritz does a dive and roll next to a fence into the snow, leaving an impression of his body. In the next shot, he is getting back up but the impression in the snow has vanished. (00:04:25)
Continuity mistake: When Clara asks Uncle Drosselmeier “Is he really your nephew, or does he just call you uncle like we do?” she puts her hands up in front of her and interlocks her fingers together. The shot cuts to behind her and suddenly her arms and hands are at her side. (00:03:05)
Continuity mistake: As Clara is asking Drosselmeier how old his nephew is, the shot is a close up of her face and at the very last frame of the shot, she is wide eyed looking up with a curious expression on her face and mouth. The shot changes to show her and Fritz, and suddenly her head is tilted down, her eyes looking differently, and her mouth showing a smile. (00:03:00)
Continuity mistake: Fritz is wearing a blue jacket in the beginning of the film, and it has large buttons on the right side of it. But when he is talking to his Uncle Drosselmeier for the first time in the film, it cuts to a close up of Fritz and suddenly the buttons switch to the left side. (00:02:55)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the film, and most subsequent shots, Fritz’s hat is a green color. But when he runs up to greet Drosselmeier, it changes to a tannish olive color. (00:02:50)
Continuity mistake: When Drosselmeier pops out to say hi to Clara and Fritz in the beginning of the movie, there is nothing on the wall between the door of his shop and the window. But in the next shot, there is suddenly a plaque of some sort there on the wall. (00:02:45)
Continuity mistake: Fritz stops at the window to Uncle Drosselmeier’s work shop and wipes away the frost to peek. In this first shot, he is on the 3rd window pane from the left. But a couple shots later when Uncle Drosselmeier pops his head out to say hi, Fritz is suddenly only 2 window panes over. (00:02:25)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning, Fritz runs on the sidewalk next to some buildings over some ice, and jumps to slide along having fun, Clara following shortly after. In the first shot of him on the ice, he has not shadow or reflection in the ice he is standing on when shot from in front. But when it cuts to the next shot from the side of him sliding by, he suddenly has his reflection or shadow in the ice under him, and so does Clara as she slides by. (00:01:50)
Continuity mistake: Right in the beginning when Clara is giving a gift to her neighbor, Mrs. Miller, it shows her from behind wearing a pink coat with a hood on it, and there is a tan line that outlines the collar of the coat. It switches to the next shot from in front of her face and suddenly her coat is more an off orange pink color, and the line around it turns to a bright orangish yellow, and becomes thinner. (00:01:25)
Continuity mistake: Clara takes one of her slippers off and throws it at the Mouse King. When she falls down and hits her head on the clock, she's wearing both of her slippers.
