Continuity mistake: The last shot, when the camera pans away from the front door of the house, appears to be taken from a helicopter, and a modern 1990's white car can be seen parked behind the property in a courtyard. The shot was meant to be at the end of the 1950s. There's also a motorway in the background with lots of fast moving traffic.
The Remains of the Day (1993)
1 continuity mistake
Directed by: James Ivory
Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson, Christopher Reeve, John Haycraft
Factual error: At the George Inn you can see double-dash road markings at a junction. This of course didn't exist at the time the film was set.
Miss Kenton: Why? Why, Mr. Stevens, why do you always have to hide what you feel?
