Other mistake: When Rita hits Cage's leg with the transponder (that needle machine) during the chase in the garage and time gets slower we can see she is turning the steering wheel to the right, but the wheels are still turned to the left.

Continuity mistake: In the first encounter with Brigham, Cage has one button on his jacket undone during one shot, and in the next shot it is buttoned up.

Factual error: In the opening sequence just before Minute 1, after the asteroid is reported to have hit Hamburg (Germany), it is shown in red how the mimics spread through Europe. But wrongly this spreading is originating from the center of Europe (somewhere in Austria) rather than in Hamburg (on the far north of Germany). You can even see in the next shot how it spreads from Austria to Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, which makes no sense if the origin is supposed to be the far north of Germany. (00:00:55)

Factual error: At the beginning, when Cage and the general are looking at the map of the Europe, you can see that they've marked the capital of Croatia as Ljubljana, and not Zagreb.

Factual error: The dam where the Omega is supposed to be hidden first is identified as being located in Germany. In reality, it's the dam at Lai da Curnera in Switzerland. In the German dubbed version, it is correctly identified as being in Switzerland.

Revealing mistake: When they leave the caravan park, look at the wheels of the caravan they are set up to rear steer like a truck trailer, rather than a normal caravan. When they exit the park the caravan tilts, giving a good view of the set up underneath.

Other mistake: Each time Cage is on the dropship along with all the other soldiers, the dropship is attacked and all the other soldiers release themselves from the plane onto the beach. When Cage lands on the beach, note the area he is standing in. Every time he drops onto the beach, he releases himself earlier or later than the previous time, but despite this, he always seems to land on the beach in the precise same spot each time. The dropship was attacked and began spinning out of control and was not in a fixed position, so there is no chance he would have landed in the same spot even if the dropship was over the same location.

Suggested correction: I don't think you're right, because the dropship doesn't change its rotation or acceleration, Cage just is connected longer or shorter to the ship, depending on the time when he chooses to let him self fall. It would be possible for him to land on almost the exact spot every time he cuts the rope to the ship.

I'm not sure this correction makes sense. If Cage was connected to the ship for a longer or shorter time, then he'd have traveled a longer or shorter distance. Then he'd land in a different place depending on how far he'd traveled. It would be almost impossible for him to land in the same spot each time.

Other mistake: In the landing scene inside the dropship there is a release valve for all the mechanical suits. No one seems to use this valve to get released, they all just drop spontaneously. Except for Cage, who has to hit the valve every time in order to get released. (00:18:50 - 00:33:04)

Suggested correction: They all wait until they are released automatically. Probably deploys at a certain distance from the beach.

I'm not sure this answers the mistake. There's no apparent reason for deployment to be automatic for everyone except Cage. It could be argued that everyone else knew to select "automatic drop," but Cage didn't. However, since that's not covered in the film, it can't be used to explain what happened.

Well, I said it's automatic for them, but it doesn't really have to be. They all know how it works, and he doesn't. They probably have a different method of releasing since their suit is unlocked and they know the system, whilst the red valve next to their head is probably an extra safety measure. He uses it over and over again because it seems to work, whilst it is possible the normal release on his suit doesn't.

Continuity mistake: When Cage does 50 push ups he looks back and the two trucks are coming straight. In the second shot where he looks back at the trucks again the second truck is just turning straight. (00:36:40)

Continuity mistake: When Cage lands on the beach for the first time, Kimmel gets crushed by a downed transport. The force of the crash knocks Cage to the ground. When Cage starts standing up, a transport can be seen in the upper right corner of the screen. When you first see the transport, it is closing its bay doors and banking left (left on screen, but moving right to the viewer). A closeup of Cage standing up then blocks the view of the transport. When the camera pans back from Cage, you can see the transport again. Except it's doing the exact same thing as before in the previous shot of it, closing the bay doors and beginning to bank to the left. (00:19:55)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where character William Cage arrives by helicopter, as he exits, a soldier approaches to take out bags/suitcases. In the following shot (from a distance) Cage walks away from the helicopter, but he's still very near the helicopter. The soldier unpacking the helicopter is walking towards the helicopter however, again picking up the bags. (00:03:20)

Continuity mistake: When Cage and Rita leave the underground garage at Whitehall, the front wheels and bumper get damaged by the ramp. In the next scene they are undamaged.

Continuity mistake: When Cage wakes up in hospital, there are two bags of blood, both nearly full, but when we look away, then back again, the blood bags are nearly empty.

Visible crew/equipment: When the helicopter first lands at Trafalgar Square you can see a camera boom and lighting rig reflection in the bottom cockpit window.

Continuity mistake: In the office, there are two glass display cabinets, and Cage stands in front of the left one. In one close up shot, the contents of the right one can be seen behind him.

Revealing mistake: At the end in Paris, the Eiffel Tower is lying on its side with its bottom arches intact showing no signs of damage, as if someone has just pushed it over.

Factual error: Cage is a major in the Marine Corps. Majors don't have gold on the brims.

Other mistake: When Cage bursts through the roof of the car and shoots the mimic in the caravan look at his armour and weapons - he is now too big to get back into the car - he should be wedged in the roof.

Continuity mistake: The dirt on the window screen changes throughout the caravan park and driving scene after, from very dirty to virtually clean.

Continuity mistake: Rita's scar above her right eye is sometimes very prominent in some scenes, then very faint in others, and in some scenes it's not there at all.

Major Bill Cage: I'm not a soldier.
Rita Vrataski: Of course not. You're a weapon.

Trivia: Emily Blunt punches a young soldier when she is walking off a transport. The soldier begins to say, "Bloody hell, it's the full metal bitch." The young soldier is played by Blunt's younger brother, Sebastian.

Question: When Cage enters the dam building something past the plant moves. What is it? Looks like a mop head.

Answer: It must be either a piece of equipment that someone noticed was in the shot, and tried to move out of the way in time. Or some sort of reference marker for Tom Cruise to take a cue from and point his gun at.
