Factual error: On the Miz's certificate of appreciation hanging on his refrigerator, the words "Department of Defence" are visible. "Defence" is the British spelling of the word defense, and any official U.S. military document with that word would have used the U.S. spelling. (00:14:30)

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Jake is about to enter the boat, he is hiding in a trailer so he can sneak up on one of Pope's men. When he jumps up, grabs the pole and stabs him in the chest with it, you can see it doesn't go through his chest, but instead it just goes in between his arm and his rib cage. You have to look closely to see.

Trivia: The lead role was originally intended for Mike Mizanin's fellow WWE wrestler, Randy Orton. Orton was replaced when WWE realised that casting him in the lead role would be bad optics, given that Orton was a former Marine who was once court-martialed for going AWOL.
