Continuity mistake: When Mia and her friend are riding their go-peds at the beginning of the movie, they leave with jackets, they go up the hill with no jackets on, then, when they arrive at school, their jackets are on again.
Suggested correction: The shot where they go up the hill without jackets is a different day because Lily and Mia are talking about Mia's father being dead and Mia meeting her grandmother.
Continuity mistake: At the big dinner, Clarisse tries to show the Japanese man some pictures and he shakes his head as he eats his green soup. A minute later, they serve the green soup.
Mia's deceased father: Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all.
Trivia: In the scene where Mia slips and falls on the bleachers, Anne Hathaway actually did fall. The director thought it was so funny that he decided to leave it in there. Notice how Mia and Lilly fall out of character and start laughing, but in the next shot they're immediately serious again as if nothing happened.
