Continuity mistake: The whole time Daphne and Velma are on the balcony of their hotel room talking, the wind is blowing their hair and clothes quite strongly. But just before the scene changes and Daphne grabs Velma saying that have to win the competition, the wind has instantly stopped. (00:27:30)
Other mistake: In the hotel, the gang are putting together a list of suspects trying to figure out who the Phantom is. They mention 5 suspects, Chrissy's parents, Brick Pimiento, Mel Richmond, Dewey Ottoman, and Lotte. When they look at the list though, only 4 pictures are shown. Chrissy's parents are not there, yet they were the first to be mentioned. (00:25:35)
Continuity mistake: As Shaggy and Scooby order the gigantic pizza, the waitress holds up a release form. Every time the shot changes, the position of her fingers changes on the form. (00:20:35)
Revealing mistake: As the gang is watching The Phantom on the security monitors, he turns around and takes off down a hall. The only lights in the hallway are suspended from the ceiling in the center. Yet the Phantom's shadow is cast to his right on the wall, when there are no lights to his left. (00:10:50)
Continuity mistake: When the gang are on their hotel bed researching the Phantom, Velma says she thinks someone is using the old stories to take advantage, and looks over at Fred. It cuts to a slightly closer angle, and suddenly she is looking straight at her laptop again. (00:24:35)
Continuity mistake: When Fred and Daphne stumble across Mel Richmond, they open a door and startle each other. They talk for a moment, and each time the camera changes angles, Mel is suddenly further out the door without moving, and Fred and Daphne keep moving back without moving. (00:17:15)
Continuity mistake: After the Phantom gets away from the Gang the first time, they head outside and Velma tells Shaggy and Scooby to go to the library to do research. Shaggy puts his hand on the back of Scooby's head. It cuts to a different angle for Shaggy to ask why, and suddenly, weirdly, his hand is hovering over and on Scooby's eye. (00:13:35)
Continuity mistake: Fred and Daphne chase after the Phantom and find a prop storage room that the light won't turn on in. They walk in and go past a row of axes. Fred walks past them fully with Daphne almost there. Then the angle cuts and they are walking by them again, and get past the axes. The angle changes again to show a hand push the axes and suddenly Fred and Daphne are in front of the axes again and have to run out of the way. (00:11:40)
Continuity mistake: After Shaggy and Scooby try to impress Brick with a juggling act, they hear a scream and Scooby jumps into Shaggy's arms. They instantly turn around in the hallway, facing the other direction, as you can tell by the arrangement of the furniture changing sides of the hall and the equipment being in front/behind them. Continuity mistake: In the back of the Mystery Machine, Fred and Daphne are talking and Fred strums on his guitar. He then reaches up to turn one of the tuners on it and then it cuts to a close up of him. Suddenly his arm is down and he's not tuning the guitar. (00:02:10)
Continuity mistake: As the Gang is walking up to the opera house where Talent Star is being held, the floor above the stairs is a solid shiny piece from the back angle. But when it cuts to an overhead view, there are suddenly tiles. (00:05:55)
Continuity mistake: When the gang are driving the Talent Star, Velma is reading a Chicago Travel Guide, and on the spine of the book it says Chicago in big red letters. The distance between he C of Chicago and the edge of the spine keeps changing between shots. It seems most noticeable after Velma brings up the Soap Diamond. (00:03:10)
Continuity mistake: After the Phantom swoops down and snatches the clipboard from Dewey, he races to the edge of the stage and has his arms bent at the elbows and facing forward. It cuts to a frontal view of him, and suddenly his arms are crossed as he is shaking in fear. (00:01:20)
Continuity mistake: When the Phantom knocks down the Talent Star logo, Dewey is standing on the right side of the star point that is broken. But when the Phantom grabs the rope and swings down at Dewey, he is suddenly on the left side of the broken star point. (00:01:15)
Continuity mistake: After the Phantom appears and knocks the Talent Star logo down to smash on the stage, Dewey looks up in shock and has his mouth wide open. It cuts to a close up as he sees the Phantom and he instantly has his teeth shut and chattering. (00:01:05)
Continuity mistake: Dewey complains about the trash in the trash can being dirty and the camera cuts back to a distance shot of the stage. When it does, Dewey is walking away from the can. It cuts to a different angle and suddenly he is standing still and close to the podium. (00:00:50)
Continuity mistake: After Dewey complains about the trashcan, the view of the stage changes and suddenly the podium has moved from the center, off to the side. (00:00:45)
Continuity mistake: While dusting off the stage podium, Dewey sees some men walk by leaving a trail of dirty footprints on the stage. He gripes at them and bends down and begins whipping at one of the foot prints. As he does, another guy goes guy wheeling something along that leaves a dirty trail of wheel prints as well as his own footprints between the two lines. This new set is beside the other set of footprints Dewey is already cleaning. It then cuts to an overhead view, and suddenly the first set of footprints vanishes, and Dewey is suddenly in the same position, but cleaning a footprint in the second trail. (00:00:35)
Continuity mistake: As Dewey is dusting off the podium on the stage, his other hand is hovering above it. When it cuts to a close up of him, suddenly his other hand is resting on the podium. (00:00:20)
