Trivia: Nicolas Cage has no speaking lines throughout the entire movie.
Trivia: The scene with Jill eating Wesker's sandwich and saying "It's Jill's sandwich now!" (although saying it quickly in such a way that you can't hear the "s" and it sounds more like "It's Jill sandwich now!") is a reference to an infamous moment in the original video game. In the game, Jill is almost crushed by a booby-trap, and the character Barry says she was "almost a Jill sandwich!" The poor dialogue and terrible delivery by the voice actor ended up making the moment a meme many years later.
Trivia: The three victims of Michael found in the playground are wearing masks that look exactly like the ones from Halloween III: Season of the Witch.
Trivia: The CGI is so primitive it is hard to believe this is not a pre-Jurassic Park (1993) movie.
Trivia: "Megalodon" means "large tooth." Without a complete fossil/skeleton, scientists used the size of teeth to estimate the shark's actual length/size (which may not be accurate) and concluded it was the largest shark known to have existed. At an estimated 15-18 meters, the Megalodon was about three times the length of a Great White shark.
Trivia: This feature-length stop-motion project has been in some form of production for thirty years. Phil Tippet started work on it after making "RoboCop 2," but nearly abandoned it after CGI became popular, fearful that people wouldn't accept it. He was encouraged to continue, and slowly pieced it together before finally premiering it in 2021.
Trivia: The creators and producers reportedly weren't too keen on the finished film, and have said that while an eighth film is planned, the franchise will likely go on an indefinite hiatus after it is released, as they feel the franchise became too stale, drawn out with too many sequels too quickly, and needs time to rest.
Trivia: It may be difficult to tell based on her acting "skills", but Mamie Gunner ("Maggie Vahn") is Meryl Streep's daughter. The lesser-known Don Gunner is Mamie's father.
