Factual error: The old percussion double barrel shotgun is firing modern shotgun shells, which would never work or fit in that gun, and furthermore are also made of plastic, wrong for the era.
Factual error: The "hard suits" the divers wear have soft, relatively normal gloves and soft joints. More akin to a football uniform with armor over spandex. They are at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, at 36,0000 feet below sea level. The pressure is over 7,000 psi. Without a hard suit, they would instantly be crushed.
Factual error: The Corvette owned by Bentwood is not a Z06 as shown in the movie. It is a 2014 C7 Stingray and can be identified by the Stingray logo on the side of the car.
Continuity mistake: SPOILERS: During the final scene, when Samuel L. Jackson is "puppeted" to lift his arm up to make it look like he's pointing a gun at the SWAT team, the number of laser-sights visible on his chest changes between cuts. In the wide-shot, there's only three, but when it punches into a close-up, suddenly there are five.
Continuity mistake: At the arena, when Scooby's blue suit bursts, the ground is covered in small blue pieces that disappear in the following shots.
Continuity mistake: Anne Heche's jacket changes color from brown to pink, and her wool hat that had blood and coffee on it, is back on her head after being thrown away. (00:40:00 - 00:44:00)

Character mistake: Bart is sitting on a bench outside the hotel. After Detective Espada talks to the Mercer hotel manager/owner, he goes to talk to Bart. Bart has blood on both hands and lower left sleeve. Detective Espada is supposed to be investigating a fresh murder case that puts Bart at the scene, but he does not confiscate Bart's bloody clothes, conduct a gun powder test on Bart's hands to check for residue, or take him to the police station for formal questioning. Espada did not follow police protocol. (00:17:36)
Other mistake: A crow crashed into a bedroom window, causing a small hole in it with radiating cracks. There was blood splattered around the hole as well as two long downward/ vertical lines of blood. Although it is possible for a bird to crack a window, it is much more likely that a bird breaks its neck without causing damage to the window. In the event that this crow did put a small hole in the glass, at least some fragments of feathers should have been stuck around the hole, but there were not any. (00:06:55)
Continuity mistake: The amount and location of dirt on Christine's face is inconsistent, ranging from being very thick and obvious to barely visible, if at all. Sometimes it extends down her neck on the right side. When her hair covers most of her face, no dirt is visible - until she turns her head and the hair is away from her face. Continuity mistake: First argument. Leilani shouts "Why are you being so loud right now?", with a hand behind her neck. She does not start the next shot in that position, she puts her hand there only a second later. (00:04:05)

Continuity mistake: Early in the film, Parker travels to her hometown in a terrible rain storm. She arrives at the Sheriff's office soaking wet, and after a brief meeting, the Sheriff drives her home - in bright sunshine.
Continuity mistake: Theo lays Susanna's phone down - when it cuts back to her phone is lying in the opposite direction.
Revealing mistake: When Maya Rudolph and Tim Meadows are in their car at the drive-in theatre, whilst Maya Rudolph says "We got Hubie Dubois spying on everybody", there is a close-up shot of the wing mirror with Hubie's car reflected in it, along with several other cars and a building in the background also reflected. Despite being a reflection, any text or numbers reflected in the mirror are not reversed. The number plate on Hubie's car is spelled out forwards, and the sign "Salem Drive In" on the building in the background is spelled forwards also, and not reversed as they normally would be in a reflection. Continuity mistake: Brahms was quite clean for having been buried under dirt and leaves. No dirt fell off Brahms' body when Jude pulled him out of his "grave" and there did not appear to be dirt in his hair. When Sean (Jude's father) held up Brahms, the doll looked relatively clean - or cleaner compared to when Liza (Jude's mother) started to wash him. (00:14:10 - 00:15:45)

Factual error: The film consistently mistakes Absinthe ban with Thujone ban. The United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) lifted the ban on Absinthe in 2007, 13 years before the events of this film. Thujone is still banned, and Absinthe products must contain less than 10 mg/kg Thujone content.
