Factual error: The family supposedly left Ex-Yugoslavia (what part isn't made clear exactly) "because of the war", but the only conflict still going on there in 1999 (when the family is still there in the opening scene) was the NATO bombing of targets in Serbia in order to get the Serbs to lay off Kosovo, and that was long over by Christmas of that year.
Continuity mistake: At the skate park (which is supposed to be Thursday after school), Max is wearing the clothes he wore on Wednesday and Friday - not the clothes he wore in school on Thursday.
Continuity mistake: Right at the beginning, two dumb kids looking for drugs are forced to make a spontaneous donation to the cult. Before the stream starts the pink polo one does not have the scooter on his shoulder, which is back when the stream starts, then off again.
Continuity mistake: Andrei is mentally rehearsing icebreaker lines for his first approach to Ramona. Fake macho Silviu sits by him and puts a blunt in front of him, practically under his nose. Reverse shot, and it's gone. (00:02:00)
Continuity mistake: When Aunt Sarah arrives, she dumps her luggage in the hands of Jim and then passes him to his right, leaving him between herself and the door. In the reverse shot, Jim is on the opposite side. (00:29:15)
Continuity mistake: The dorky protagonist just bumped into the bike shop girl. She tells him "It's all good, man", to which he replies asking how's the bike. Behind him, a woman with a dog makes her appearance. Over 10 seconds of conversation pass, and the woman is still where she was, but in the shot that follows, when she says "I'm Cate, by the way", the woman warped past him, and is now behind her to the opposite end of the sidewalk. Other mistake: Jethro said to Brian, "Shall I tell you how I know you're lying? Because when you said that, you looked up to your left." However, Brian looked to his right and Jethro even pointed to Brian's right when he was telling Brian that he looked to his left. (00:56:00)
Continuity mistake: When Santa tells Noelle he's anxious about inheriting his dad's role, the position of his arms is inconsistent between front and side shots.
Other mistake: Jodie mentions wearing shoe size 13 more than once in the movie yet look closely and those are only size 10 shoes.
Continuity mistake: When we see Christmas Flint with her dad and Miss Rayleen for the first time, she's watching them bicker, her chin perched on the back of her hand. Which hand, though? It's her left hand for the greater part of the scene, but in the shot when Jim Gaffigan is saying "I got to find my pants. You move my pants?" it's the right one. (00:05:00)
Continuity mistake: Before Casey enters the lunchroom and until after he sits at the table and says, "We should do push-ups", the napkins in the holder (closest to the screen) are partially leaning toward the screen. When the camera shifts to an angled view of the napkin holder, the napkins that were leaning are straight up but some of the napkins on the opposite side are leaning (away from the screen). Revealing mistake: After most of the people trying to hang onto other people holding onto the ascending helicopter fell off, a downward view from the helicopter showed a man effortlessly hanging onto the landing skid and a woman just as effortlessly grasping his jacket's shoulder. (00:02:50)
Continuity mistake: Throughout the movie, Peg's hair frequently changes from scene to scene and within a scene. When her hair has a blue ribbon around a bun at the top, her side parts are sometimes higher/lower and straight/jagged. The length of her hair varies, as does the amount of curl on the bottom. One of most noticeable variations in her hair length and curl occurs during her speech to her new employees at Personal Expenditures Garnering. It changes several times from just to the shoulders to a few inches below her shoulders. Back views of her hair tend to be shorter and front views tend to be longer. (00:44:42)
Continuity mistake: Catherine is in Brittany's flat and she sits down telling a bit about her past. Seen from behind she is touching the hair on the right side of her face, instantly turned into the left side at the cut. (00:16:25)
Continuity mistake: After the alien abduction, Emmet plans to lead a rescue mission and opens the gate asking "Who's coming with me?" During the sequence, the shadows change completely. At first he is not casting much of a shadow, then it reaches the metal doors, then it stops midway towards it. (00:20:55)
Continuity mistake: Scooby and Shaggy are lying face down on the massage table when the zombies arrive. Shaggy has his robe lowered baring the upper back, but in the close-ups you can still see the robe up covering his shoulders perfectly. (00:28:00)
Continuity mistake: In a flashback inside a pub, the protagonist writes his number on a coaster to hit on the waitress. During the scene, the coaster changes position repeatedly between shots. (00:25:55)
Continuity mistake: When Pinky barges into the protagonist's home, multiple times (for instance when he sits in front of her) her pigtails move behind her shoulders from the front and vice versa between cuts. (00:06:00)
Continuity mistake: Zeke is in the kitchen with his daughter. He is checking out Dick's driving license; in the close-up he is holding it with his left hand, but in the following shot, as she asks him "Where'd you find it?" he is holding it in his right hand. (00:10:15)
Continuity mistake: Enzo's red tag hanging from his collar usually can be seen, but he did not appear to be wearing the red tag outside when Eve told Denny she was pregnant or when sitting in the bleachers with Eve at a race. (00:19:48 - 00:21:09)
