Factual error: At the beginning of the movie when Danny Glover is sitting at the chessboard, the pieces are lined up wrong on both sides of the board. If Danny has the white pieces, the king should be on his right. The black king should be on the opponent's left.
Factual error: A band poster for the Polish blackened death metal band Behemoth is shown while Bruce drives around the town, however the poster features the band as they are in 2015 while the film is set in 1990.
Factual error: Although this 2015 Norwegian disaster film is far superior to the many American disaster movies that it emulates, "The Wave" still suffers the most common error found in tsunami-themed disaster flicks: Crystal-clear flood waters. Of course, tsunami flood waters in particular are always inky-black with churning sediment and debris.
Factual error: In the fighting scene in U-Bahnhof Alexanderplatz the underground trains move much faster than in real world. Alexanderplatz is a railhead station. The trains would either crash into a wall or would not have enough room to accelerate that fast.
Continuity mistake: When Penelope is sunbathing whilst Paul is on his laptop, she is face down with her head touching the lounger, but in the next shot, her head is suddenly raised above the lounger, then back to leaning against the lounger in the next shot.
Factual error: Michael's wife meets with Longo in prison, and she has an iPhone. The trial was in 2003, 4 years before the introduction of the iPhone in 2007.
Continuity mistake: Spoiler alert: About halfway through the movie, we see Emma Roberts coming out of the shower, and the camera focuses on the gunshot wound on her shoulder, with the round scar of the entry wound on her back, and the much rougher, ragged scar of the exit wound on her front. Then at the end of the movie, where it's revealed that Kiernan Shipka and Emma Roberts were actually playing the same character, just nine years apart, Kiernan Shipka gets shot by the police officer when he finds her in the room with the severed heads. Problem is: she was facing the officer. The scars on Emma Roberts are the wrong way around. (00:31:05 - 01:15:35)
Continuity mistake: During the fight in the garage, the protagonist neutralizes (and maybe neuters) one of the baddies crotching him with the car door. In that sequence, his hands keep changing position on the door. (00:07:30)

Plot hole: It's a good thing Jake left the Corps....here he is lying in the bed of a pickup with a full-auto weapon, and he can't take out the radiator of a vehicle 20 feet back, with not one, not two, but 3 clips of ammunition. A few rounds through the radiator, coolant is gone, and the motor seizes.
Visible crew/equipment: When Matthew is following Nina's cries for help through the woods you can see numerous set lights in between the trees (in the distance). (01:09:43)
Revealing mistake: When Sam phones his car, as he and Kate are hiding in Talbot's apartment, it is discovered that the two people sitting in Sam's car have been killed by the Watchmaker. One of the dead bodies is shown blinking in the shot.
Other mistake: In the break-in lab scene where the characters attempt to film their second resurrection, Zoe has her right hand on the electrical circuit breaker. After she throws the breaker and is electrocuted, Frank after unsuccessfully trying to revive her removes her wedding band, which shows clear burn marks on her ring finger of her left hand. Factual error: At multiple points in the film, the Sheriff misleads the police dispatcher regarding his location. The Sheriff also laughingly dismisses any question of a stolen police cruiser, and the dispatcher just accepts it. However, police cars were universally outfitted with GPS tracking devices over 20 years ago, so the dispatcher should have been able to locate the Sheriff's cruiser and any other police cruiser in a matter of seconds without any radio verification whatsoever.
Continuity mistake: When Griffin gets out of bed, when he hears the clown song he pushes the bed sheets forward about 3 feet from the pillow but when his dad goes into Griffin's room, the sheets have been pulled up about half that length.
Continuity mistake: Mike Lawford is at the college library. His phone buzzes. He has both hands on a book, then in close-up just one hand and the phone itself, the other not in sight, and then both hands again. (00:04:25)
