Character mistake: Frank calls a box wrench a ratchet wrench when he's working on the car with Adele's son. (00:28:28)
Suggested correction: It looks like a ratchet wrench and Frank could have called it a socket wrench and still been correct - the terms are used synonymously. While I'm no expert on wrenches, my dad had all types of tools and I knew the different types of wrenches, saws, hammers, screwdrivers, etc. before I was a teenager. "Box-end" wrench refers to the shape of the wrench (box or ring), distinguished from "open-end." So, a ratchet wrench has the box-end shape and Frank correctly identified the ratchet wrench.
Character mistake: Spanish headlines are seen. Some of the a's have the wrong accent on them ("å" instead of "á"). (00:45:25)
Character mistake: There's a corporal sitting against a rock wall smoking a cigarette. Two privates both call him sir. Enlisted soldiers are not called sir.
Character mistake: When Joan is searching the web looking for information on what monkeys eat, there is a section on the screen that reads "The diet of monkeys varies form fruits, leaves." Obviously the correct word for this sentence should be "from" not "form." (00:36:21)
Character mistake: Luca calls Eve in the dark outside the house, searching her. But they all know that Eve is deaf. (00:33:20)
Character mistake: The Sheriff calls for Drayton Sawyer to bring out his son Jed (Leather Face) in the movie's opening scene. But it's long been established that they're brothers.
Suggested correction: This is meant to be a direct sequel to the original film, and ignores the other sequels. And if memory serves correctly, the first movie never made any mention of them being brothers. (I just checked and the Texas Chainsaw fandom Wiki backs this up - the original film makes no reference to them being brothers.) So therefore, it is not a mistake if this movie re-writes him as being Leatherface's father.
Character mistake: When Billy is telling Diana about Sophie and who she chose, Diana asks if Paddy knew about that and Billy says no. Only problem is that earlier, Paddy told Diana that Sophie picked him, showing that he didn't know the truth, so Diana should've known that already.
Character mistake: When Joe and Marie are going over files in the old school, Joe finds a staff letter announcing the enrollment of Amanda Pryce. The top of the letter is dated 1984. However, Joe then proceeds to ask Marie to search for Amanda's file, and tells her to search for the year 1986.
Suggested correction: It's possible the incident happened up to 2 years after her enrollment (starting as a freshmen and the incident being when she was a sophomore or junior).
Character mistake: The caption under Shrike's picture in the newspaper that Alma is reading, referring to the circumstances of Shrike's accidental death in a locked safe trick, reads 'Police say famed magician Lionel Shrike vigorously attempting to free himself to no avail.' It should be 'attempted', given he tried and failed, then died, so is unlikely to give it a second go.
Character mistake: When Jennifer Garner goes to see Raiana, she's wearing her white doctor's coat, which is ridiculous - doctor's never wear their white coats outside of the hospital; if they did, the coats would be contaminated with gas fumes, brushing up against garbage, all sorts of things could contaminate them, making them totally unclean.
Character mistake: At the end of the fight when the Channel 9 news crew shows up, Jack Lime says that they're outnumbered 3 to 1. This doesn't make any sense. Even if he's talking about the entire fight his math is off. If he's talking about who's in their group it seems to be about 9 people on Jack Lime's team, and 8 on Ron/Wes' team.
Suggested correction: There's a shot of the group when Wes says his line about his news teams emptying their gas tanks and you can count 12 people on Jack's team (there's a total of 20 people in the shot and 8 aren't on Jack's team). Jack is only talking about 12 to 4 against Wes' team, not 12 against both teams.
Character mistake: In the scene where Beatrice looks at the newspaper clipping about her accident. The word "sentence" is misspelled "sentance" (00:24:35)
Character mistake: Early in the film we are repeatedly shown the alien character flirting happily with various men, relaxed, confident, even socially forward, in fact often more articulate and socially at ease than the various Glaswegians she encounters. Yet later on, inexplicably, all this social nous mysteriously disappears and she is completely baffled and blindsided by the simplest of social interactions, almost a mute. Since the film has virtually no plot it's hard to see why this jarring turnaround should be so.
Character mistake: During the scene with Kirk and Khan "space-flying" over to the Vengence, Bones loudly tells Kirk that he's "off course", with Karl Urban mistakenly falling into his New Zealand accent when saying "course."
Character mistake: In the scene discussing the provenance of the mirror, the girl stated that Sherman marched to the sea in 1865. It was actually 1864.
