Factual error: In one of the first major scenes where Matt Franklin and Tori Frederking are being introduced at the rental store - there is a shot where you can see the entrance of the store, and there is an electronic article surveillance detector on either side of the entrance to the store. This technology for use in a video rental store (for VHS tapes) did not exist in the 1980s.
Factual error: Passiflora Incarnata doesn't cause the symptoms described in the film. There was one remote incident where some of the symptoms (nausea) occurred but it can only happen if ingested which did not happen in this movie.
Factual error: The protagonists travel to the wedding resort at Krabi on Thailand's West coast from Bangkok by speedboat in a relatively short time. To travel from Bangkok to Krabi by sea would involve a 1,500 mile journey through the straits of Malacca via Singapore and would have taken them at least 48 hours, non stop, with additional fuel onboard.
Factual error: Towards the end when the smugglers are trying to takeoff from the airport with the float coming at them, Marcel (the lead smuggler) tells Tipa (the fat smuggler) to pull up because they're about to hit the float. Tipa quickly pulls back on the flight controls to takeoff. The scene switches to an outside shot of the plane's wing where the "flap" moves to the down position, but pulling back on the controls manipulates the "elevator" (on the tail) which would cause it to pivot upward. Factual error: In the credits, there is a paper revealing that Mater was knighted on Tuesday, July 15th, 2011. However, July 15th, 2011 was on a Friday, not a Tuesday.
Factual error: The "Great Terror" turns out to be a giant goose, but you see in the shot inside the castle that its footprint is not webbed, even though geese have webbed feet.
Factual error: As an attorney, I know that one doesn't become an attorney three days after passing the Bar Exam in NY, as Miss Lovenko claims at the end of the movie. She first would have to be approved before the Character Committee, submit Letters of Recommendation of Good Character, and her background would have to be checked. Factual error: A Great Gray Owl is depicted living in the George Washington National Forest. However, this species is not native to Virginia.
Factual error: Jack and Jill claim to be identical twins, but it is impossible for a male and female to be identical twins. They must be fraternal.
Factual error: The 'Mayor' says he's a Turtle, but he's actually a Tortoise. Turtles have paddle type limbs for swimming, not reptile like paws as depicted in the movie.
Factual error: When Jason Bateman first meets the rookies at the roadblock, some Saguaro cacti can be seen in the background. Saguaro are not indigenous to Nevada.
Factual error: Julia Roberts character orders Pizza and Wings, gives the driver one bill (guessing it's a $20). Says she's giving a $12 tip. No way Pizza and Wings costs $8, certainly not in California.
Factual error: In the helicopter scene, the assassin is using a Gatling-type weapon with a set of rotating barrels. However, the fire is coming out of the central spot where the axis should be. That's not how Gatling guns work. (00:42:25)

The car is a Mercedes 240 Diesel (to be more precise, a W123 series), built from 1975 to 1986. Mercedes first introduced a remote key system to the W140 series at the beginning of the nineties.
