Factual error: When Cattleya escapes through the sewer drain and winds up in front of the U.S. Embassy, she uncovers the manhole all by herself. Impossible for such a young child to do.
Other mistake: So let me get this straight: Optimus Prime has Energon Swords hidden in both of his arms, with which he can slice through an entire Decepticon in one chop, yet when he is hanging from a few wires, despite having one arm entirely free, he can't cut himself loose?
Plot hole: One of Snape's memories show Lily telling baby Harry to be safe, be strong. That had to have occurred before Voldemort killed Lily. Snape was not in the house until after Lily was killed and Voldemort was gone. Only Lily and Harry should have had that memory, but not Snape.
Factual error: Erik arrives in Argentina at a place called Villa Gesell, shown to be a town in middle of mountains. Villa Gesell is a beach town on the Atlantic Ocean coast, with no mountains.
Continuity mistake: Tony Trihull appears when Finn McMissile begins chasing Professor Z. It also shows when Tony uses his magnet. When it is used, Finn's equipment are pulled by the magnet, which includes his bullets. Those bullets are black when all of them were going out. However, when they are pulled onto the magnet they are grey.
Factual error: When the action moves to England after the failed award ceremony, the British Union Flag hanging from the wall is upside down. The broad white band should be at the top left (nearest the top of the flag pole).
Factual error: In the scene straight after the opening credits we are taken to Baker Street where construction work is being done. This work is identified by a sign with a logo as being for the underground line. The logo type face was developed by a Mr. Edward Johnston for London Underground from 1913 but the distinctive typeface used in the film was not in place until 1919. This is obviously long after the 1891 setting of the film.
Other mistake: On one of the SHIELD monitors, "perimeter" is spelled "perimiter".
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Linda and Blu are on the computer, when Tulio "communicates" with Blu, the computer is way too much to the right. It reappears when Blu starts squawking.
Continuity mistake: When Edward and Bella are in the taxi in Brazil, he has his wedding ring on. In the shot when he kisses Bella in the street, the ring is suddenly gone.
Factual error: Barbossa addresses one of his officers as "lieutenant-commander". This rank was not introduced into the Royal Navy until 1914.
Continuity mistake: When the bird first hits the RV, a blood stain is visible on the windshield. But on the exterior shot of the RV as it stops, the blood has disappeared. (00:26:50)
Continuity mistake: When Rango was at the mayor's office, the mayor grabs out a jug of water, and he opens the lid. But in the next shot, the lid is sealed again.
Continuity mistake: There is a scene where Hugo is on the station and sees a key down on the tracks. There are two separate shots of the key and both times it is buried in the stones next to a sleeper. Then Hugo jumps down onto the tracks to pick it up and its now sat on the middle of the sleeper when he picks it up. (01:22:30 - 01:23:10)
Continuity mistake: At the campground, when Hanna and Sophie are under the blankets together, each girl is shown throughout the conversation laying on her left side. If this were actually the case, they would both be facing the same direction, not facing each other. (01:00:45 - 01:03:30)
Continuity mistake: When Tick Tock freezes Rebecca and Cecil, they are in one position, and when they go to the close up of them frozen, they are in a different position. When it zooms back out again they are in the first position. Also, when they are frozen moving on the conveyor belt, they are back in the position they were in on the close up shot. (00:47:50 - 00:48:10)
Factual error: In the scenes of Ian Fleming in the Naval Intelligence HQ, there is a map of Scandinavia on the wall. The map already has the post-war borders of Finland on it.
Other mistake: In the beginning the guy cuts a triangle in a banner, but the inside piece is floating.
Revealing mistake: When Tigress is hatching a plan to escape Gongmen Tower after they have been trapped, she looks out over the wall. But take a close look at the archers: they all move in perfect sync, indicating the same animation models were used for all of them.
Suggested correction: These movies aren't set in a specific time.
Credit for the following goes to another member here, Super Grover, who actually answered a question about the dates the films are set a while ago. These dates are estimates. The intro of 'PotC: The Curse of the Black Pearl' takes place mid-1720s (roughly 1725), when Will and Elizabeth are around 11/12 yrs old. Then eight years later the duo are about 19-20 yrs old during the main part of 'The Curse of the Black Pearl', then around a year later are set to marry in 'PotC: Dead Man's Chest' followed by the consecutive 'At World's End', which take place around 1733 / 1734. The next movies 'PotC: On Stranger Tides' and 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' (after the intro) take place in the 1750s. Again, credit to Super Grover.

They're set in the 1700's. In "On Stranger Tides", King George wants Jack to find the Fountain of Youth before King Ferdinand, who reigned from 1746 - 1759.
