Other mistake: When Dennis Quaid fires his SIG-Sauer P229 pistol on the bad guys under the over-pass, he fires 28 shots from a 10-12 round pistol without reloading.
Other mistake: Bryan is recording as his daughter is being taken. When Marko comes on the phone, Bryan unplugs the phone from the recorder to speak with Marko. So, he actually didn't record him saying "Good Luck" yet. On the plane, Marko says it on the recorder.
Other mistake: Virtually all the text in the various articles and reports in this movie are fake. Look at the John Kramer article at the very beginning, even at first glance you can tell it's an article about pilgrims or something and has nothing to do with John Kramer. Also, when Staham is going through the articles he found on Hoffman's sister, you can very plainly see that every article (there are a few) is just the same typed out story copied and pasted into various formats. (This doesn't even require slow motion, just pay attention.) (00:11:45)
Other mistake: In the beginning the detective is a detective but during the exciting hunt for the killer (when Diane Lane's character is abducted), the detective is referred to as a Lieutenant by his people over the radio.
Other mistake: The date on the surveillance footage from the camera in the Russian Embassy says 01.05.08, implying that it is either January or May (depending on which date notation is being used, American mm.dd.yy or Russian dd.mm.yy). However, it is fall/autumn outside, as there are dead leaves everywhere. And when Katie calls Harry we can see that his cell phone shows 17/9/08. (00:48:00)
Other mistake: The television that Lau used to communicate with the crime lords was a regular set carried in by Lau's operatives and placed on the table (which didn't have a mic or camera on it), and there were no cameras in the room. So how was Lau able to see/hear/interact with the crime lords? (00:23:10)
Suggested correction: Lau doesn't need to see the occupants of the room in order to talk to them - he just needs to be able to hear them, so the fact that there are no cameras in the room is irrelevant. The microphone doesn't have to be attached to the television, it could be anywhere in the room, including under the table.
Other mistake: In the final gunshot sequence on the rooftop, Max Payne raises the gun up to reveal a slo-mo sequence. The handgun is coated in ice/snow. How long was he holding the gun in the air in the snowy weather?
Other mistake: During the shoot out on the train, Frank takes cover behind the seats. Needless to say, those seats would never offer any protection against a hail of bullets.
Other mistake: Bonnie the Rottweiler is referred to several times by her owner Brett as a female, yet it's a male dog.
Other mistake: It is crucial to the story that Peter is terrified of moths - but when he is led through the woods at knife point by Tracey, a large moth flies around both their heads for several seconds (lured by lights of the film crew) and he ignores it, being as it's an unplanned visitor. (00:42:30)
Other mistake: As Red goes to shoot Hancock, there's no bullets or shells in the cylinder.
Other mistake: After the main characters are talking in a bar, the camera shows a wire above a street. On the wire, there are 3 pairs of old shoes hanging by the laces. However, a closer look reveals that 2 of the 3 pairs are NOT actual shoes, they are just cardboard cut-outs printed to look like shoes and they have the same graphic. (00:36:25)
Other mistake: In the opening scene, Ben is seen riding his bike over the Mass Ave Bridge from Boston towards Cambridge, at MIT. A few moments later, he is seen coming over another bridge (the John Weeks footbridge) from Boston into Cambridge, at Harvard. There would be no reason for him to ride into Cambridge over the Charles River at MIT and then seconds later be riding into Cambridge over the Charles River at Harvard.
Other mistake: Nicholas Cage travels to Bangkok with a fake Canadian passport - but his last name (he's "Vincent Cadillac") is spelled two different ways on the same document, with one L only at the bottom, which also has the wrong format (lacks "CAN", the code of the issuing country, in front of the last name). (00:07:15)
Other mistake: During the scene where the German Soldiers mow down an entire village, there are many shots of people crying and whimpering before the shooting begins. One little girl starts out with a sad face but then gives a big smile after looking to her left. (01:54:45)
Other mistake: In the dinner shootout scene, The Punisher hangs from a chandelier upside down using his legs, and starts shooting people while spinning for about 20 seconds, but there is no apparent force which makes him spin so much in the first place; he doesn't even make a "first turn" with his body in order to start spinning.
