Continuity mistake: When Tom's car crashes against the water bottles, the crash causes a hole in the windshield. A second later it's fixed and perfect.
Continuity mistake: When Steve played leaves the hospital room, he is wearing his glasses. In the next shot they have disappeared into his pocket. In the following shot he is wearing them again.
Factual error: Justin enters a private mail box facility to mail a large "business reply" envelope which requires no postage. The sender just deposits it into any mailbox free of any cost. The PMB facility charged him $3.20, the old rate for Priority Mail.
Factual error: Bunny Yeager photographed Bettie for the January 1955 issue of Playboy, yet, when Bettie first meets Bunny, there is a 1959 Ford convertible in her driveway.
Continuity mistake: When Katelyn puts on her hockey skates, her leggings are not on. When Ronnie returns the skate it is white. Her skates suddenly appear as neutral and her leggings suddenly appear.
Continuity mistake: In the room when DJay first plays his keyboard, the dirt pattern on the door behind him changes drastically when the scene changes.
Factual error: The movie takes place during a single NFL season. In the beginning of the movie, when Brandon is still in Las Vegas, the paper he is using to pick games shows Seattle playing New Orleans. Later in the movie, still the regular season, Seattle and New Orleans are playing again. They would not play each other twice during the regular season.
Continuity mistake: In a flashback, Michael is injured by something falling on him. The injury "pattern" on his face constantly changes between shots in that scene.
Continuity mistake: When Madeleine is having her nails done, it is either her right or left leg that is crossed, in different shots.
Factual error: When Zach and his father give food to Raymond, a train passes in the background: this is the "Renaissance" car model, bought in the nineties by Via Rail, but the scene is set in the late seventies.
Continuity mistake: After dinner, Rafi and Lisa are in the kitchen putting away the food. Rafi puts the meat in a food container and Lisa closes it. After Rafi sits down the same container is open again.
Other mistake: Otis picks up a DVD case and asks if he can take it home to look at. While waiting for an answer he opens the jewel case and even moves the inside flap (as would be in a case with more than one DVD). There is no DVD in the case, it is completely empty (all black inside). He later views the non-existent DVD at home. (00:16:55)
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the film, the gun lying next to Woody Harrelson moves. We see him on his knees in the snow with the gun right next to his left knee. It stays that way for several shots. Then we cut to the big wannabe-gangster getting into his car, and when we cut back to Woody, the gun is now more than an arm-length's away from his body.
Factual error: In an early scene, a character suggests that a man might be awarded an OBE honor if he wins the 1913 US Open. The OBE wasn't established until 1917.
Other mistake: In the scene where the guys first fly into Newark, they are seen getting off the airplane after landing. When the camera pans around the back of the airplane there are orange gust locks on the rudder and elevator. The gust locks are used when parking the airplane overnight and would not be installed just after landing.
Factual error: In the scene at the Miami hydroplane race, Mike McCormick spies a long haired boat pilot and naively asks one of the locals, "Is that Grizzly Adams?", to which he is answered facetiously, "Yeah, that's Dan Haggerty." The story takes place circa 1971, but actor Dan Haggerty didn't play Grizzly Adams 'til 1974.
Factual error: Captain Stanley says of Australia "What fresh Hell is this?" The scene takes place in the 1880s, yet the quote is attributed to Dorothy Parker, who would not have been born yet.
Factual error: In the scene transitioning to the Christmas holidays, a shot of Central Park is shown with Christo and Jeanne-Claude's The Gates, Central Park, New York City, 1979-2005 in the park. However, this display was unfurled on February 12, 2005, after the holidays were over.
Revealing mistake: At the clinic, when Sushmita Sen reads Katrina Kaif's suicide e-mail, she is reading it in a Yahoo "Compose" e-mail window, which means the note was typed on the clinic computer, not Katrina's computer. (00:10:20)
Continuity mistake: After Elvis's first live performance, his parents are discussing how proud they are. They and the crowd are still moving in time to his song even though he's already stopped, indicating the scene was originally intended to take place during the song.
