Trivia: A little foreshadowing - when the King first goes to the Poison Apple pub, a frog with ruby red lips asks him if she has met him before.
Trivia: In order to acquaint himself with his three lead actors, director Alfonso Cuaron had each of them write an essay about their characters, from a first-person point of view. Emma Watson, in true Hermione fashion, went a little overboard and wrote an 16-page essay, Daniel Radcliffe wrote a simple one page paper, and Rupert Grint never even turned his in, as he said that is what Ron would have done.
Trivia: If you look at the poster advertising the play "The Marvelous Marriage," you'll see it was written by Al Funcoot. "Al Funcoot" is an anagram of Count Olaf. This is a common theme in the Lemony Snicket Books.
Trivia: The BPRD complex was (according to Del Toro) was originally FDR's secret emergency bunker. The library where Professor Broom dies was the president's office and Hellboy's room (with the big vault door) was his fallout shelter, just in case Germany perfected the A-bomb first.
Trivia: When Van Helsing is fighting Dracula towards the end as a werewolf, he stops to get out his claws. This is an obvious reference to Wolverine, whom Hugh Jackman played in both "X-Men" movies.
Trivia: When Scooby and Shaggy are at a club, Shaggy talks to Mr. Wickles. He says something about Scooby's nose. The man who is sitting next to Scooby is Neil Fanning, the man who does the voice of Scooby-Doo.
Trivia: The mysterious new leader of the flying daggers never actually appears because that role was intended for actress/ singer Anita Mui, who resigned the (impending) filming due to ill health two weeks before dying of cancer. Out of respect Zhang Yimou didn't replace her with another actress and the film is dedicated to her memory.
Trivia: Unlike popular belief, this was never meant to be the "last Godzilla movie ever." This was merely meant to be an anniversary and a last Godzilla movie for at least 10 years, maybe even more. The director of the movie even expressed interest in how the future generations would treat the King of the Monsters in future movies.
Trivia: Foreshadow: There's bunch of frogs/toads outside the Beasts' cell, later in the film he fights "Toad Style."
Trivia: This "prequel" to "Ginger Snaps" was shot back-to-back with the sequel "Ginger Snaps: Unleashed."
Trivia: The movie uses a lot of scenes that are taken almost directly from other games. The first game Charlie plays is directly taken from Grand Theft Auto. The Cabin in the Woods scene looks a lot like the cabin from The Evil Dead, and even the scene when Charlie and his friends are wandering through the foggy woods resembles the opening to Resident Evil 1. And the ending scene in the rusted warehouse is Silent Hill.
Trivia: Anne Hathaway sang her own songs in the film.
