Visible crew/equipment: When the helicopter lands and the lady gets out, watch as the two men walk in front of it and begin chatting away. In the front of the helicopter, you can see the reflection of the boom mic operator walking around slowly for QUITE A WHILE as they walk by the front of it.
Continuity mistake: When the main character lady is having a drink with a guy at the wedding, she drops her little yellow umbrella on the floor. The guy gives her his pink umbrella. The shot switches and they both have umbrellas in their glasses, the guy has his pink one, and the girl has her yellow one.
Other mistake: When Jack is reading the paper about the death of two other characters in a hotel, there's a newspaper insert and we can see that, with the exception of the headlines, everything is mumble-jumble, incoherent text just to fill the space.
Continuity mistake: When Tommy picks up his mother's cigarettes out of the toilet, one of them very obviously breaks in half. Yet a few shots later, they are all unbroken and normal.
Continuity mistake: When John C. Reilly and Diego Luna are walking in the street and the guy snatches the briefcase, the briefcase switches hands. Just before the snatch it is held in the left hand, but the guy steals it from the right hand. (00:53:10)
Continuity mistake: When the 3 kids are about to go through the chute after the 2 security guards shock themselves Gus jumps down first, then Madeline gets in and Austin hands her the baby, Max, and she goes down then Austin goes down. However when they all land Gus comes out then Austin and Madeline comes last. Not only that but she loses Max inside, how she can let go of him if he was on her lap and he ends up behind her?
Factual error: Bridget appears to be making her first parachute jump. The mistake is that she would not be permitted under UK law to make her first jump the way she does. She would either have to jump with a static line attached to the aircraft, which opens her parachute automatically. Or if she took an accelerated free fall course, she could free fall but she would do so with two instructors jumping with her to steady her and open her chute if she panicked.
Continuity mistake: When Bob and Handy are talking beside the Moose at the start of the film, they are talking about Handy's nose. Right after Handy says that when Bruce (The Moose) is there, his nose looks normal. As he says this, Bob looks down. Then as the camera changes angle to look at Bob for the reply, he is once again looking directly at Handy.
Continuity mistake: When the group goes to the diner after their first class, When Bobby takes off her hair piece clip and puts it back on, at first it's smooth then when the shot changes, it's all messed up.
Factual error: A headline from the Pantagraph (an Illinois newspaper) dated 19 December 2001, is shown in big letters to read, "Latest Florida recount shows Gore won election." In fact, no edition of the Pentagraph has ever featured an article that claimed this. The only time those words appeared in that newspaper was in small print over a letter to the editor dated 5 December 2001.
Continuity mistake: During a discussion between Lucy and Amy about a half hour into the movie the hair on Lucy's forehead alternates between two different positions several times.
Revealing mistake: In the rain scene approximately 25 minutes into the movie a man is talking to a woman in a very heavy rain. His shirt has very little rain on it and a large part stays completely dry. The dry side is on the side where the rain is coming from.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Sylvia is searching for clothes to suit her "new" attitude, she pulls a pair of underpants off a clothes line and tries them on. We see that she is wearing white underpants, then when she later puts the skirt from the charity bin on, her underwear is black. At no time does she get black underpants from anywhere.
Other mistake: In the beginning of the film, letters on the screen describe the lady as the "Musican's Wife" It should be "Musician's Wife. "Musician's" is misspelled.
Continuity mistake: After the love scene with Penelopa, Frankie sits down on the chair wearing a green shirt. In the next shot he is wearing a blue bathrobe.
Continuity mistake: While in the parking lot you can see Connie and Carla entirely when shot from the front. When they run away the gap they were looking through is so small only their faces would have been visible from the front. In addition the wall when shown from the front comes only up to their stomachs, but when they run way the wall is higher than they are. (00:05:40)
Factual error: Near the beginning a Scrabble rack is shown containing tiles with the words "GET A FORD." Scrabble racks are limited to 7 tiles and this is 8. This rack cannot exist in Scrabble.
Suggested correction: Hi. The rack in question was showing an advertisement from the 1950s which featured a Scrabble rack. So, while it is true that GET A ford would not be a legal Scrabble rack...it wasn't from an actual game.
Continuity mistake: The amount of dirt and blood on Tina's face and hair constantly changes between shots, from a lot of dirt and blood to some dirt and blood, to none at all.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where they are in the house after the funeral, Tim is in a room with his mom, where he eventually says "Which one?", then takes off his tie. You then see him outside with a girl and he has no tie. He goes back inside and is talking to two women, and has the tie back on. Then he goes outside again, and the tie has disappeared. Factual error: (SPOILER ALERT) Aviva is supposed to have had a hysterectomy done on her secretly when she went in to have an abortion. She is shown waking up in the clinic, and her parents elect not to tell her, and as the movie progresses we see that she never finds out. But there are several reasons why this is impossible: 1) A hysterectomy is major surgery - the little storefront clinic Aviva is in would never have been able to perform it. She would have been transfered to a hospital. 2) Similarly, the recovery period for a hysterectomy is weeks long - Aviva would have been hospitalized for weeks, and there's no way she would not have noticed the pain she was in, or the surgical scar, or the fact that she was in a hospital. Yet in the movie she is shown walking out of the clinic the same day. 3) Even if you discount the first two reasons, Aviva would have noticed in the weeks and months afterwards that she was not getting her period, and therefore was incapable of getting pregnant. Yet we see her gamely trying to get pregnant with the trucker guy.
