Factual error: This movie states that it is during the year 1973, yet in the beginning of the movie when they are driving in the van they are listening to "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. This song was not released publicly until 1974. (00:03:10)
Continuity mistake: When Chris talks to the cop and then the cop gets shot with an arrow, Chris runs into the truck and the man shoots another arrow. So altogether he shoots two times. The first one is in the cop's eye, so how come when he shoots the second through the truck window, there are now two arrows there, not one. He only fired two arrows and we see three. (01:04:20)
Revealing mistake: In the fight scene at the pier, after Freddy and Jason get thrown into the air by the carriage that smacks into them, they land on the pier in sort of slow motion. Watch Jason's left knee as he lands, you can see a kneepad.
Continuity mistake: When Bucky jumps on the hood of the bus to get back in, the Creeper flies from in front of the moon towards the bus causing all the kids to run away. Bucky can still be seen staying put on the hood when they run - however in the next shot of all the kids running you see him at the front of the pack which would have not been possible given that he didn't run right away.
Revealing mistake: When John Cusack is driving the actress, there is a shot looking over his right shoulder at the dashboard. The speedometer reads 0 mph. (00:08:15)
Plot hole: In the scene where she goes to her house after escaping there is no police tape on the front door even though it is a crime scene. Earlier the police searched and taped her office - it only makes sense that they would do the same to her house.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Eddie Murphy is going into the crypt, he takes one of the lit torches. While they are trying to escape the skeletons, the door to the crypt closes and locks. When they show the shot of his son outside, you see two torches again. When he gets the doors open and they leave, you see one.
Visible crew/equipment: When Susan tries on a hat while the couple are shopping in the island town, you can see the cameraman in her mirrored shades. (00:06:00)
Visible crew/equipment: During the final battle, a vampire shoots into a totally dark room and kills a werewolf. He then lifts his gun and people are seen reflected in the sights. (01:37:05)
Continuity mistake: When the lottery winner is going to die, the beer bottle he takes out of the fridge moves all over the place. It even vanishes a couple of times.
Audio problem: When Caitlin and Michael are under the bed, Caitlin says "Okay, maybe we should stay under the bed," but her mouth doesn't move.
Other mistake: In the scene where Willard is in his bedroom closet, he is trying to block the hole that Ben has created. On a closet shelf there is a Christmas Decorations box. The exact same box can be seen on a shelf behind his boss in the office supply room. (01:01:55 - 01:09:30)
Continuity mistake: When Cassie sits down at the table at the pub there is a menu lying next to her glass. When it cuts the menu has changed position. (00:22:00)
Continuity mistake: When Karen Black shoots the sheriff, she puts the gun up close to the side of his head and fires. We see blood shoot out of the opposite side of his head but the side she shoots him on has not a scratch.
Visible crew/equipment: When the Zombies are chasing Greg in the woods, one of them leaps through the air. You can see the springboard he does it from. (00:45:25)
Deliberate mistake: There is one scene in the movie where Heath Ledger reads a Latin sentence in a book. As he is translating the sentence, he goes over the words one by one with his finger. This would never be possible in a Latin sentence, because words in Latin are never in exactly the same order as in English. Words that actually belong together can be placed at opposite ends of a sentence.
Continuity mistake: The cracks on Henry's diploma after the missed shot change between closeups and totals.
Other mistake: In the scene where Dennis Quaid has just rescued Sharon Stone from the devil's throat, they are running through the woods to get back to the house. Quaid says to Stone that they will take the Jeep. He is referring to the Jeep Grand Cherokee that he drives throughout the film. It's a newer model, possibly a Limited, with flashy star-shaped chrome rims. When they get to the house, they see that the Jeep is up in flames. The camera hangs on the vehicle for a solid 3-5 seconds. From this camera shot, it is extremely obvious that the flaming Jeep has rims that, although still star-shaped, are styled quite differently and are most likely the alloy wheel that was very popular on the older Laredo edition from the early to mid-90's.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene in which Waldo & his co-worker are sorting parcels at the post office, an umbrella type photographic light diffuser can be seen reflected in a television set perched on a shelf in the background.
Factual error: How can a gun being *thrown at* a car window (as Adrian did with the thug's gun in the car chase sequence) possibly shatter the glass? No shots fired, no full body weight being thrown - just the gun.
