Visible crew/equipment: On the DVD, in the ending where Julianne looks over to the island after hearing a gunshot, then walks away, you can see the shadow of someone walking by behind the window of the cabin.
Revealing mistake: When the Bodyguard attacks the rival gang, he stabs one of the torch carriers, to which we get a close-up of. As the blade goes in, blood comes out - when the Bodyguard removes his blade, there is no stab wound, not even in the torch carriers clothes.
Continuity mistake: As the girls ride in to town to avenge Kim, there is a deputy in a faded red shirt on a second-floor balcony. The first time he gets shot, he does a flip onto the street. The second time he gets shot, he goes over backwards.
Continuity mistake: As Michael leaves after being fired and Chuck returns to the office, the clocks in the newsroom read drastically different times in each shot, even going backward through time at one point.
Continuity mistake: After May and Darren make love he gets up and puts his pants on. We see him closing his belt, but in the next shot where his pants are visible the belt is open again. (01:09:40)
Other mistake: When "the killer" is pumping gas, if you count the clicks associated with a liter going into the tank, they equal a total of 33 liters of gas, not 27 which is what the pump stops on.
Continuity mistake: When Tom plays checkers with Bill and makes his last, winning move, there's a cut to a wide angle where the pieces on the board are arranged differently. (00:08:20)
Deliberate mistake: When the teacher walks over the floor towards the blackboard, he walks through a lot of blood. However when it cuts, he leaves no traces of blood where he steps.
Revealing mistake: The movie takes place over the course of several years, as large segments of time pass between scenes of Will and Jane meeting at the airport, and other encounters. Thus, it is rather jarring to notice that their twelve year old children, Ben and Claire, don't appear to age at all. Young adolescents usually change in appearance quite drastically as they mature.
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the film when Ray and Hilda are having a conversation, Ray's white undershirt alternates between being seen and being hidden under his shirt (on his shoulder).
Factual error: The movie takes place in Des Plaines, Illinois, with a couple of scenes from downtown Chicago. However, throughout the movie you can see both palm trees and mountains in the background, none of which actually exist in Illinois. The producers also point this out on the DVD commentary.
Continuity mistake: In a party scene about 45 minutes into the movie there are numerous shots of the crowd. Over a several minute period one character was shown in at least four shots while smoking a cigarette in a cigarette holder. In all shots the partially smoked cigarette is the exact same length. Either they kept using the same clip or the cigarette was not lit.
Revealing mistake: The movie takes place immediately after World War II. When David is boarding a flight, a Swiss Air jumbo jet is seen taxing down a runway in the background.
Other mistake: Whenever Jackie uses a tattoo gun, particularly in the scene where she's tattooing Faith, the camera angles make it obvious that the needle isn't moving.
Factual error: Near the end of the movie a Greyhound bus is shown. The route through Taos to El Paso is served by T.N.M. & O. T.N.M. & O. was purchased by Greyhound many years ago. However, the buses were marked with T.N.M. & O. as of a couple years ago when I rode the bus from Taos to Albuquerque. As of today greyhound.com still shows it as being served by T.N.M. & O., not Greyhound.
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the film, the filthy, mud-covered US convoy mistakenly enters a town. About the time they decide to turn around, their vehicles suddenly appear all clean and shiny. Then, the mud returns again.
Factual error: At the beginning of the movie, which is supposed to be taking place in 1974 at this point, there is an exterior shot of a police building, with two police cars out front (one with an officer exiting the car) that are about 20 years newer than 1974. (00:07:30)
Visible crew/equipment: In the second episode as Geli takes out her bike, with a Hitler painting. You can than see a modern yellow jacket worn by the director an film crew standing in shot. All on the left of the car, before the camera pans into Geli for a close up. (00:13:50)
Revealing mistake: Why does the railroad station look so old? It should be almost new at the time of the film.
Factual error: During the film, there are extracts of two songs - 'The Spy' and 'Maggie McGill' - from the Doors' fifth album, Morrison Hotel. Great songs, however the film is set in 1968 and Morrison Hotel was not released until 1970.
