Factual error: The fake Rheya tries to kill herself by drinking liquid oxygen. The liquid shown is green, viscous, and foaming and looks a bit like the monster's body fluid in Alien. Liquid oxygen is colorless, non-viscous and doesn't produce sticky bubbles. (01:00:25)
Factual error: The train to London that everyone gets on is a French TGV. The TGV doesn't run through the Channel Tunnel, only the Eurostar trains do.
Revealing mistake: When Charlie is writing her letter we can see it through a hidden camera in the pen she is using. By watching the angle on how the camera would be attached to the pen we know that she would have seen the camera. Also her hand would be blocking the camera view, so we shouldn't be able to see anything at all. (00:30:30)
Visible crew/equipment: In the bathroom stall scene when Elvis is examining the hieroglyphics, a mic can be seen in the window reflection when the camera shot is looking out of the stall at Jack the old man.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Maud and Roland are lying on the bed in the hotel talking about their love problems, Maud moves her head back slightly on the pillow and then keeps it there so her head is about thirty inches away from his. Roland's head doesn't move but in the shot where they are about to kiss each other, their heads are almost touching.
Factual error: In the close up shot showing the record on the record player, the label correctly identifies the song that played as Benny Goodman's "Sing Sing Sing (With a Swing)" but the label also states it is a "Swing Classic," a classification only used when the record was later reissued. The label is inappropriate for a World War II time frame. (00:16:05)
Continuity mistake: When Watson is walking up to the Black Tor, he is seen walking in torrential rain. But when he arrives at the top, the rain has stopped, and both his hair and clothes are completely dry.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Carla and Darl are talking in front of her house, she closes the back door to her car. In the next shot it is open and closed again in the next one.
Continuity mistake: Augustine's hair has a life of its own. It becomes messed up a few shots before she fights with Gaby, then is back to its proper position during the piano shot of her song, then it's back to messy - but in a different way than before - for the standing up part of the song.
Continuity mistake: When sitting around the table with her friends, the book Katie is holding changes between shots.
