Revealing mistake: In the first cathedral, the Bishop raises his hand before he extends it to Jocelyn and we see the underside of his ring. It is obvious that his ring is a costume ring because it's not closed in the back. This is confirmed on the DVD commentary. (00:23:35)
Revealing mistake: The scene in the sanitarium where Nash is given the insulin shot (usually done with a dummy retracting needle) you can see the tip of the needle slide along the skin as it is supposedly withdrawn. (01:19:05)
Revealing mistake: When the Quoyle ancestors pull the house across the ice the four ropes are hanging loose in spite of the strong pull one should need to move a whole house. Not to mention that the whole idea of getting a house down the cliffs in one piece, pulling it across the ice and lugging it up another cliff requires some strong imagination. (00:28:50)
Revealing mistake: When Jessica and Helen are arguing outside the dress shop, there are 2 girls crossing the street in the background who blatantly stop to watch the scene.
Revealing mistake: This film was shot in Page Arizona with is pretty far north in the "high country". When they first drive up to the meteor side, there is Saguaro cactus that are only a couple of feet high with huge arms and a neon greenish color. These only grow on the desert floor in Arizona and they certainly are not neon colored. Additionally, the arms don't start appearing until they are much taller as they grow them to balance themselves since they have a very shallow root system.
Revealing mistake: When Kate is on the phone complaining about the water being cut off, the iron overheats. Kate then runs over to it, and the shadow of a crewmember is cast on the iron and ironing board, then moves out of sight. (00:23:30)
Revealing mistake: In the end at the airport, when Ricky walks up to the line to give his part of the story, you can clearly see a light reflecting off the black cap on Ricky's tooth, to make it look like he has lost one. (01:14:40)
Revealing mistake: When David is sitting in L.E. at the end and the camera is zooming in on his face his mask changes. In the very last shot of him just about to pull it off it's much wider/looser so it'll come off easier.
Revealing mistake: Towards the middle of the movie Fats has a motorbike accident and is seen riding into a huge rock. When the stuntman actually hits the rock and goes ballistic there are huge piles of straw right next to the rock that hadn't been there before. In the course of the event the stone gets shifted by about a metre, thus revealing itself as a prop. (00:45:40)
Revealing mistake: When the raptor in the InGen compound calls for help, the shots of the raptors responding are shots taken from other scenes in the movie.
Revealing mistake: When Jack and Marty drive the skinny lady to her inbred folks Jack follows one of them into his house. He has a terrarium where a snake is just swallowing a screaming but otherwise lifeless rat. (00:50:15)
Suggested correction: The rat's last dying gasp? Morticians will also tell you that if you compress a corpse's chest, the deceased will make moaning noises as air from the lungs is forced out and past the vocal chords. Why couldn't the same process happen with a rat?
Revealing mistake: Dan goes through the fraternity's records, and sees Devon's face in photographs going back almost 100 years. Notice how badly Devon's face is superimposed onto the earliest photographs (it's hard not to).
Revealing mistake: When Ricky and Bobby knock the fishbowl over while fighting, you can see it separate into two clean halves before it even falls. (00:40:05)
Revealing mistake: Have a look at the shot of the rear part of the train exploding as the locomotive pulls away from it. If there was ever a more obvious model shot, with cheesy, jerky bouncing toy trains and Action Man (TM) dolls, then I haven't seen it.
Revealing mistake: Gruesome but wrong. When the other pilot is murdered, the killer shoots him in the neck pointing downwards, but the spray of the blood-pack is from his forehead up high. (00:31:20)
Revealing mistake: When Mandras is being treated, following his long trek back to the village (he has apparently walked barefoot), the tops of his feet are covered with blood and dirt. When he is laid on the table by the doctor, the soles of his feet are facing camera, and they are clean and white.
Revealing mistake: The corpse on the medical examiners table noticeably swallows during a close-up. (00:29:23)
Revealing mistake: After Steelleg's and Iron Head's song, Steelleg is taken outside for a fight with some thugs. He kicks a ball into the stomach of a guy, making him fly backwards and roll over several times before he slides away on the ground. Look at his neck in the shot from behind - you can see the construction he was dragged by under the shirt.
Revealing mistake: When the Yamakasi and the children are trying to escape from the last house, they break the wall but the shot later, it looks like it has been cut with a chainsaw, or another precise tool.
Revealing mistake: When Kirsty breaks them out of the police jail with the van she stole, you can see the fake wall created, as it built out of line with the real wall.
