Visible crew/equipment: While the group is deciding whether or not to take the blocked-off route 666, both Lou Diamond Phillips and the woman he is talking to are sporting equipment and crew reflections in their sunglasses, most notably the big, white reflectors.
Continuity mistake: When Shaun and Charlie are running from the police, they hide behind a dumpster until a cop car goes by and then Charlie leads Shaun to a meat truck. He opens the back and lifts up the door just far enough so that Shaun can get in. In the next shot, when Charlie is getting in, the door is much higher up, about four feet higher actually, than it was a mere second ago, and there was no sound indicating that Charlie pushed it up further.
Continuity mistake: After Ciki gets out of the trench to get a lighter from his pal's bag he lights a cigarette while he is still squatting outside the trench. In the next shot you hear the lighter snap shut, and Ciki is leaning against the wall of the trench. (00:12:30)
Continuity mistake: When Max punches a hole in the wall after hearing about General MacArthur being called a commie, the hole in the wall changes height and size as the camera angle switches back to him from showing the reaction of his writers.
Continuity mistake: There is a scene when a girl knocks on the door of the house of her friend. She opens and in the background you can see another girl doing nothing. The shot later she has disappeared.
Continuity mistake: When the man is laying out the photo files on the desk, he puts down files one, files two, and then file three. In the next closeup the position of photo film number three has changed.
Continuity mistake: When Matt Dillon is talking to Michael Douglas at the bingo hall, the caller calls out "O 18". Later in the film during a different game, it's called again. All Bingo junkies know that the "O" numbers are 61 through 75.
Continuity mistake: After Cassie has met Shawn at the band stand, Shaun reaches out and holds her right hand, yet when it zooms in for a close shot of her, she is twiddling her scarf with her right hand, yet when it zooms out again, Shawn is holding her hand again.
Continuity mistake: In the scene at the little bar Bruce Willis kicks Billy Bob Thornton's chair over. Kate Blanchett picks Billy Bob up and tries to dance with him. A different angle shows Bruce Willis still at the table and the Billy Bob's chair is now upright.
Continuity mistake: At the slam dunk contest, after O completes his dunk, there is glass all over the court. When the kid comes to get the ball, you can see that all the glass is cleaned up and there again right before O throws the ball. (01:02:06)
Continuity mistake: When Margot is telling the story about how she lost half her finger it shows her putting the log up to be cut and it shows her left hand on top of the log. But when the shot moves out to show when her finger gets cut off, her right hand is suddenly on top of the log.
Continuity mistake: Gordon mentions that his wife accidentally spilled hot water on his leg and burnt it, but the actor only occasionally limps on it, although we are shown that he has an injured leg. This is mentioned on the commentary.
Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the movie during the play, Kelly goes backstage during intermission, and her hairstyle and color has changed. (According to DVD commentary, it was a pick-up scene and she had already started filming Spider-Man. That's why her hair was now red. Still a mistake, but there's the explanation.)
Factual error: Paris control refuses to allow the Concorde to land at Paris, and orders the flight to return to the US. It is highly unlikely that the Concorde can carry enough fuel to make two trips across the Atlantic without refueling. Very few aircraft have the fuel capacity to go to the destination and return. It usually costs too much to carry excess fuel on a flight.
Continuity mistake: When TJ jumps in the dumpster at the school to hide from the guys in suits, he sees two guys and another who's dressed up like Principal Prickly in his normal shabby suit, but then a second later when he takes off his Prickly mask he's in a black suit.
Factual error: Philip uses his left hand to sign the decree declaring Joan officially crazy. No one in the 15th century would have used his left hand to write, as 1) it was considered the wrong hand to write with and 2) writing with the left hand would have smudged the fresh ink and rendered any document unreadable.
Other mistake: In the warehouse near the beginning Fuzzy gets shot at close range with an Ingrams but there are no holes in his clothes and no blood nor are there any holes in the plastic sheeting behind him.
Continuity mistake: At the end, right before Matty is going to toss his keys inside the Cadillac, the window is only down a tiny bit, but when he actually tosses them the window is all the way down.
Continuity mistake: When the police secure the scene where Scotty was found a TV reporter makes a statement. She's standing in front of a tree with a big horizontal branch. When the camera angle changes the tree behind her is different with a much lower branch. (00:10:25)
Revealing mistake: Dan goes through the fraternity's records, and sees Devon's face in photographs going back almost 100 years. Notice how badly Devon's face is superimposed onto the earliest photographs (it's hard not to).
