U-571 picture

Plot hole: At the beginning of the movie, the German commander sends a radio transmission with the damaged sub's position at "AL 85-32." The German Kriegsmarine divided up the Atlantic in grid squares like these, but "AL 85-32" means the damaged sub is just roughly 375 miles west of Ireland, but more than 2700 miles from the US east coast. There is no way on earth the Americans beat the Germans to this location, especially since the German supply sub is already en route. Funny enough considering the controversy about the movie, for this position the British would have been in perfect position to intercept.

Suggested correction: Only one baby is shown actually coming out before the scene changes so the sizes of the other two are unknown. Also, the three kids were very thin as children and one of the kids became super obese an adult. They simply grew when older so the sizes of all the kids may not of actually played a factor at birth.

Suggested correction: Because of the style of the film, as the fight progresses, it gets increasingly unclear when each round ends and starts. The filmmakers simply blended the 3rd and 4th rounds together to add to the blurring of the passing of time. It's similar to how they don't specify or mark the ending of one day and the start of the next, but we know the film doesn't all take place during the same day.
