Visible crew/equipment: When the car is sitting in the back of the trailer there is a cable visible connected to the front of the car. In the next scene the cable is gone.
Revealing mistake: When Nick has swam back to his water scooter, he climbs up and drives away and the shark comes up behind him. But look carefully behind Nick as he is climbing. The nose of the shark is visible during the whole scene, right under the surface. This proves that the shark was a dummy, waiting to come up.
Continuity mistake: In the gas station scene after Ellen learns that Phil has drowned, she is so distraught she forgets to put the gas cap on and we can see it on the roof of her car as she drives away. But when she arrives at the police station we can see that the gas cap is on. (01:10:20)
Revealing mistake: In the first morgue scene the body on the table is obviously breathing.
Other mistake: Mr. Gellar never ages. We see a flashback of him when he kills Sarah's Dad when Sarah was a little girl. When Sarah is a detective, he still looks the same.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Miter is planning to escape from the army and Bozz tries to stop him, watch the red mark on Miter's neck. It miraculously disappears and reappears many times. (00:45:05 - 00:48:30)
Visible crew/equipment: After Cherie falls off her bike, because the limo almost hits her, as the chauffer opens the limo door, a crewmember is reflected in it. (01:18:45)
Plot hole: When Captain Towers gives his XO an injection to allow him to die in peace, he, properly, swabs the site with alcohol, and slips the needle into the vein. However, immediately below the injection site, is a hep-lock.a port installed into a vein to allow injectables to be administered. I cannot imagine that a senior Naval officer would be so ignorant of the port's function.
Visible crew/equipment: At the part when Saffron Burrows is crossing on the opposite side of the street, you can see a camera crew off the reflection of every car they pass.
Other mistake: In the scene where hundreds of men burst into the place where Penelope Cruz gives her cooking lessons, you can see that one of the waitresses drops the plate she is holding a split-second before the guys swing the doors open and rush past her.
Continuity mistake: When Gene Hackman is helping his wife zip up her dress her hair goes from hanging straight down her back, to being over her shoulder. It cuts without giving enough time to assume that she moved her hair.
Continuity mistake: The car driven by the journalists has the letters TV written on the windshield. They are bigger viewed from inside.
Continuity mistake: When Eloise goes down the staircase and Tom Tom stops her, she is clutching a book to her chest, holding it at the top. When the camera angle changes she is holding it at the side. (00:15:50)
Continuity mistake: In the last scene to be filmed, with Orlock and Gretta, the candles on the dresser are alternately lit and then out, as Orlock's reflection is visible then not in the mirror.
Continuity mistake: After the doctor stitches and dresses his own eye, blood disappears, reappears and gets bigger and smaller through the dressing.
Visible crew/equipment: During the scene where Chopper shoots Sammy the Turk in the eye with the shotgun in the car park behind Bojangles, the pregnant woman runs back to the car after witnessing the shooting, you can see the boom mike in the bottom right of the car's windscreen.
Continuity mistake: After his conversation with Leo, Willie presses the dial/talk button on his cordless phone and the light remains on. (00:59:40)
Factual error: The actress Sasha Barrese is credited at the beginning of the movie as "Sasha Berrese".
Continuity mistake: In the scenes at the beginning where Willy Jack is in the car his shirt changes 3 times before he's finally pulled over with the 14 year old girl. It's all one day. (00:14:00)
Suggested correction: This is not entirely unusual. A person might change their shirt, more than once, if the weather is making them sweat. Especially if the car does not have AC. Novalee said that Willy Jack bought the car very cheap, and there is a hole in the floor, so I would not be surprised if the AC was broken.
I second this. My husband owned a car that didn't have AC, and it was not unusual for him to change his shirt on hot days.
Continuity mistake: When Pollock is filmed painting, the boots he is wearing change to shoes, then back to boots again.
