Factual error: The idea of two spacecraft blasting off together so close to each other at the same time is a joke. One would put the other at great risk. Not only is there massive fire and heat, but the vibrations from the noise of the exhaust do great damage to the surroundings. And there is great inconsistency about just how close the two spacecraft really are. The first still shot taken in the dark has them at different towers about 150 yards apart. But, then all the men take an elevator up ONE tower and are split apart into the two groups at the top of the tower. Furthermore, the launch takes place at Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39: the fixed and rotating service structures built for the Space Shuttle are visible. The pads at LC 39 are 8,700 feet apart (just over 1.5 miles). (01:00:00)
Visible crew/equipment: Near the end, when Rodmilla and her daughters are requested to appear before King Francis, in the first shot facing the king and queen, there is a beige narrow mat in front of the large patterned rug, which is not in previous or following shots, specifically used for crew/camera tracking (fullscreen version). Other mistake: The envelope with the letter for Amanda is suddenly in a very good condition as it ends up in the peanut bowl... even though it has been in the trash, had chewing gum attached to it, been trodden on, had a beer barrel rolled over it, etc....
Plot hole: The parents meet and get married on the QE II and then we jump to the girls getting to camp 11 years and nine months later. We learn their 12th birthdays are on October 11, so at the time of the camp (which must be around July/August) they are 11 years and around 9 months old. They should only be 11, given it takes 9 months to grow a baby, but instead they're nearly 12.
Suggested correction: Elizabeth James got pregnant sometime within the 11 years. Their parents sent them to camp in July because in October they both turn 12. So they are 11 years 9 months old.
The mistake is valid, but perhaps not specific enough about why. The opening scene takes place Jan 8, 1986 (as seen on the marriage licence). Then it says 11 years and 9 months later, which would mean in the next scene it's October 1997 (when it's July 1998). It's 11 years and 9 months after the twins' birth and/or the parents' divorce. But we're not actually shown that part.
Continuity mistake: When Joe is on the yacht talking to his father, Joe is mixing up martinis, pours them, and adds an onion to one, and then an olive to the other. The camera cuts away to his father and then cuts back and now the second martini has no olive, so Joe adds an olive again. (01:30:11)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the film before Nicolas Cage jumps in the ocean, the sky is overcast. Once he is in the ocean, the sky is clear blue.
Continuity mistake: When Robbie and Julia are making their friend the limo driver run through the obstacle course to prove his driving ability, you can clearly see both right-side hubcaps come off the car. Then, just a few seconds later, the hubcaps are back on the limo.
Other mistake: In the end credits, the filmmakers misspell the name of the town they wish to thank. They spell it "Coupville", but it's actually spelled "Coupeville."
Plot hole: In the end of the film it is heard the police want to exhume the body of Charles Lee Ray from his grave site in New Jersey. Now when Chucky and the crew get to the grave site they find and kill a coroner who is digging up the body. He is the only one there at 1am, by himself, a lonely coroner without any police officers, after all this is a police investigation and I doubt the cops would have him there alone. Then right at the end the Detective who is hunting them arrives. Now he is a cop from Lockport, about six states away. A. Why did he drive all that way to see the body? B. A cop from all the way down there shows up but no new Jersey cops are at the scene?
Factual error: When Javert arrives in Paris to inform the Prefect that he has found Valjean, the government building displays the French Tricolour. This part of the film is set in 1823, during the Bourbon Restoration, so the flag should be the white, Bourbon flag.
Revealing mistake: In the scene where Captain Love and Antonio Banderas (as Zorro) meet in the hallway of the hacienda, two guards rush down the hallway and drop their rifles and swords. Zorro asks them to bend over and then proceed to kick/nudge them out the window. If you watch carefully, you'll notice that the guard on the right (furthest from Zorro) reacts to the kick too early. Factual error: Sir Francis Walsingham was only a year older than Elizabeth.
Continuity mistake: Toward the end of the song "One Of Us" when Kovu is running away and the birds are chasing him, Simba is standing on Pride Rock looking down at Kovu. In the next shot of Pride Rock, Simba is gone, but in the next shot, Simba is back, in the same position as in the first shot.
Continuity mistake: When Robert Redford gets the girl to drive the pick-up, in one shot something lies in the gun rack. In the next shot there is nothing behind their heads in the truck's cab.
Continuity mistake: When Robin crashes the plane at the end of the film, it appears that she crashes it about 1/4 mile off shore. But when everyone runs out to the wrecked plane, it's just a few feet from the shoreline.
Continuity mistake: In most shots in the hotel room the houses you can see through the windows are quite far away, like across a wide street. Only in one shot, when Estella stands nude in front of the window, there is suddenly a window only a few meters away, through which one can see an Indian woman with her daughter, surprisingly unaware of the naked Estella. Continuity mistake: In the love scene with Gia and Linda you can see a band-aid on Gia's middle finger on her left hand twice but the third time you see her left hand it's gone.
Other mistake: In the 'Macavity' dance, Demeter makes a mistake with one of her moves and makes an "Oops." face.
Visible crew/equipment: When Ted and Dom are looking at Mary, speaking with Warren and Pat from behind the tree, if you look carefully you can see the camera and crew in the reflection in Ted's glasses. (01:10:10)
