Revealing mistake: At the end of the movie, when François is waiting for Christine's call, he moves his hand just before the phone rings, as if somebody gave him a signal.
Factual error: At the beginning of the movie, Pecker is at the Washington Monument in Baltimore when he boards the 27 bus to Hampden. The 27 bus does go to Hampden, but the closest it ever comes to the monument is Howard Street, three blocks to the west.
Continuity mistake: Billy sits in the bathtub wearing nothing but his underpants. Later, when he is in the bath with his girlfriend, he's wearing a white undershirt he never had. (00:45:00)
Continuity mistake: When Dennis is in the bathroom with Bill, snorting drugs, his hands change position between shots. In one shot, he'll have the spoon in the vial and the next shot it's out. Then when he takes the last snort, the vial switches hands and he doesn't hold the spoon.
Visible crew/equipment: When Antony is shot, the black wire pulling him back is visible for a short while leading from his shoulders up to the top right of the screen. (01:13:40)
Continuity mistake: When Max and Freak go into the coffee shop, Max says hello to Mr. Hampton and puts three Baby Ruth chocolate bars down on the counter in closeup. Then it changes to a longer shot and Max puts the chocolate bars down again.
Factual error: For a nurse, Reed Buccholz seems to have very little knowledge of medicine.
Continuity mistake: When Max is moving into Sam's house, Sam's cousin Andrea is standing on the stairs. There are about 15 different shots of Andrea standing there, and her backpack constantly shifts from being on one shoulder to both, back and forth.
Continuity mistake: When Goldblum parks the car when having a flat tire, it's further away from the white line on the road than when he's changing the tire.
Continuity mistake: When Mark and Robert are driving to the comic store you can see Robert's seatbelt over his jacket's right lapel, the shot changes a couple of times and each time it's back on Robert his seatbelt is gone. (00:37:45)
Continuity mistake: In the movie, Jerry Springer's character is named "Jerry Farrelly." However when he signs the pregnant woman's stomach, he signs his name as Jerry Springer.
Other mistake: At the end of the movie, Brooklyn uses a bazooka to blow up the club. If you look at the bazooka, you can see straight through it, there is no shell in it.
Visible crew/equipment: In the beginning narrative, when Madeline is telling the Tiger off, you can see the carabiner holding the cage shut. (00:03:05)
Visible crew/equipment: In scene where Chris is arguing with the cops look very closely in the window of the car. The boom mic, camera, and crew are all visible.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the boys are fighting in front of the "Avalanche" ride which Medusa has sped up, Amanda hits the emergency stop button and accidently stops the ride upside down. In the very next shot it shows one of the boys fighting in front of the ride, and the ride is now moving.
Factual error: There is a scene where the guy takes a date whale watching in Boston Harbor. There are no whales in Boston Harbor, it's at least an hour and a half trip out to go see whales from Boston.
Factual error: When testing the new phone installation, the engineer only dialled the number, and not the area code, as you have to do on a mobile phone.
Visible crew/equipment: When the ambulances and fire trucks show up at the building where the money was dropped off, the camera pans up the side of the closest ambulance and you can see the camera rig reflected in the windows. (00:34:55)
Factual error: When Vic is beginning to fall in love with Louisa, he stays up one night reading her novel-in-progress. However, Louisa is Spanish, and it's clear from her accent that her native language is Spanish, and writers very very rarely would deliberately choose to write in their second language when they could write in their first language - so her manuscript is almost certainly in Spanish. And it's extremely unlikely that Vic speaks Spanish: he shows no signs of speaking Spanish; his character is not that bright and not that well-educated; and even if he learned it in school he's been out of it for many years and wouldn't be able to read it at that time. Even if Louisa had chosen to have her work translated so it could be read more widely, she was in the process of writing it; translation is a long, expensive, and involved process and it wouldn't have been done while the work was still being written, as we have already learned it is. Therefore, Vic would have been unable to read Louisa's work.
Other mistake: There's a scene where James films his and Veronica's amorous activities for use as Shelmikedmu mating ritual videos. While she is dancing, we see him slip behind a curtain to turn on the camera. Later on, we see the footage being played on a store's display TV's. Much of the footage shown is of her dancing BEFORE he turned on the hidden camera. And because of the angle of the shot, you can see that it wasn't taken by a different camera.
