Other mistake: When Christian Slater shoots 9 or 10 shots out of a 6-shooter, there is no possible way that he could have had time to reload in the time allotted.
Other mistake: When Connie is waiting for the President the first morning she is reading USA Today. On the back there is a weather map and it is blue and green, the colours for cold in USA Today. It was a hot July day! (00:06:15)
Other mistake: Although the film is set in Oklahoma (and north of Oklahoma City), the roads are marked by Texas road signs.
Other mistake: If the bullets from the super gun move at just under the speed of light, how come the bad guys can't hit him or the girl? The bullets would arrive almost instantaneously and that would mean minimal compensation for them running. Plus the guy had them locked on when he shot.
Other mistake: When the general passes the clipboard to the President to sign the nuclear release, the clipboard is actually upside-down. (00:55:55)
Other mistake: In the first scene with Randy telling Jamie Lee Curtis to turn around, the reflection in the TV never mirrors the actual position of Jamie Kennedy. (01:22:30)
Other mistake: Carolyn Stilton shoots Blondie O'Hara in the head and is lying dead over her dead husband. Just before the final scene starts she begins to open her eye.
Other mistake: Look closely at the dead trooper's closed eyes. You'll notice during the length of the shot that his closed eyes move. Fast forward to make this more obvious. (00:37:55)
Other mistake: Vanessa is illiterate, but easily reads the Hi-Way Café menu. (00:48:35)
Other mistake: Early in the movie when Shale is screening the commercial for his "services," the rolling text describing his abilities lists "Helicopter Repelling" instead of "Helicopter Rapelling".
Other mistake: When the killer and Segal are fighting in the last scene, and the killer is thrown out the window, you can clearly see the black shards on the window bend.
Other mistake: As Plisken escapes in the hijacked chopper, Quervo Jones picks up a bazooka and prepares to fire on it. As Fast Eddy shoots him through the chest, watch the bazooka. You can see right through the barrel. In other words, there is no ammo in the weapon. (01:25:05)
Other mistake: As Sylvester Stallone explodes the grid to come up in the tunnel, the car on top is like a lightweight car, it seems to be stuck to the ground. (00:45:00)
Other mistake: In the scene where Nicole opens her locker and a note from David falls out, the handwriting is exactly the same as the seen where Nicole leaves a note taped to the bedroom door for her father. Although the letters are larger, the same applies to the note on the father's vandalized car, which says he's popped both of their cherries.
Other mistake: In the scene where Chip breaks the glass on the backboard, he falls on his back in the glass. If you look, there is a perfect outline of his body in the glass where he is supposed to land.
Other mistake: Just as the gang are off to pick the plants they need Faith goes off to talk to Daniel. While she's there the others woop and laugh, but they do it once and it's recorded. It's played 3 more times, straight after each other. Sounds slightly stupid.
Other mistake: When Kitty reads Michael's letter from England to Harry, there's some strange smoke arising from behind their chairs. (01:19:40)
Other mistake: During a chase, Gibson makes a left turn at an intersection causing two girls to suddenly lunge backwards to avoid getting hit. The girl with the long black hair turns to her friend and smiles. This was most likely because she just successfully played a part in a big movie, but I don't think she'd be smiling at that moment. Most of the people in that shot don't react normally but are more explainable given the New York setting.
Other mistake: When Nicolas Cage is chasing Sean Connery in the yellow Ferrari, someone already mentioned that the windshield breaks more than once and in the next shot it's in perfect condition again, well I say forget even that. When Cage drives onto the sidewalk and crashes into the meters, the windshield should have been completely destroyed, not cracked. And the same goes for the hood of the car, which is in perfect condition in the next shot.
Other mistake: Shooting two forty-fives at once is hard. Willis must think so too. One gun fires blanks and the other gun operates like a real pistol, even emptying out shells, but is not firing. This is very noticable in slow motion during his first standoff.
