Continuity mistake: In the scene where Elle walks in to Joe's gallery, the camera takes a shot of her body from the bottom up. At this point she has on black high heel sandals. In the following scene, you see Elle in the background with brown, flat, daggy slippers.
Revealing mistake: Hamlet is killed and in the next scene is being carried with his arms stiff to his sides. The men carrying him go over a bump, jolting Hamlet, and he blinks.
Continuity mistake: At one point, Claire Dane's friend announces her plan to pick up guys on the beach by wearing the skimpy blue swimsuit she models. She then says that she bought one for Claire Dane, and pulls another g-string from her shopping bag. The suit is red, yet when Claire Danes is strolling down the beach in it, it is now a dark plaid.
Audio problem: When everyone is eating breakfast, Alex says "Would you pass the sugar, Noemi", but his mouth doesn't move at all.

Factual error: In the infamous Highland bus scene, the driver can be seen issuing tickets from a computerised ticketing machine - astonishing really - the film is set in the early 70s.
Continuity mistake: When Ricki Lake attends the 1st dinner with her mother in law, the servant puts an asparagus and some kind of a red thing on ricki's plate. In the next few shots, the red thing has disappeared. In the next scene, it is back on her plate.

When he gets out of the car, notice that some of his tires have mysteriously reinflated themselves.
Visible crew/equipment: Near the beginning, right after Nicole Kidman is in her carriage and calls out to her friend Henrietta, another carriage rolls by. You can see the camera crew reflected in this carriage.

Cut, and the door is wide open, with Christian Slater resting his hand on it. Cut again, and the sister is pulling it closed again.
Other mistake: In the scene of the fire at Thornfield (when Jane saves Rochester), the fire is burning unbelievably slow. In the time it takes Jane to wake Rochester, and Rochester to stop the fire, the whole room especially the bed should've been engulfed by fire. It would also be impossible for Rochester to pull the curtains from the bed and put the fire out the way he did.
